Qlik Community Team is evaluating a new tool to drive engagement with members. You can assist us by providing constructive feedback.
Hello Qlik Community!
For the month of October, we have been on a development freeze which is why we have been quiet. With the rollout of the new navigation, we wanted to make sure everything was stable and work out any kinks that popped up.
Naturally, we couldn’t make it the entire month without pushing out something new. We were close though! 😊
We are piloting a new engagement tool and want your feedback. The goal is to keep you engaged and informed about what’s happening within Qlik Community and Qlik as a whole. It will also give you the opportunity to earn more badges!
In the next couple of days, you may see this on the right hand side of your screen:
THIS IS EXPECTED! Please do not be alarmed 😊
You will need to click the “Login With Qlik” button and your credentials will pass through. You should only need to complete this step once (please tell us in comments if that is not the case for you)
Our initial goal is twofold:
- Offer improvements to the onboarding experience for new members by targeting rank = new member with a link to the 'getting started' guide
- Offer improvements to the onboarding experience for newly registered Partners by targeting rank = partner with a link to the new partner area.
Our intention is to start slowly. In fact, after the login, you may not even see anything else for some time.
Tune in next month for another update on our progress.
As always, we welcome your feedback (But please abide by Community Do's and Don'ts when delivering feedback)!
Basically my first interaction with this site is "hello, we don't know how proper UX design works and will let this pop up again ON EVERY SINGLE PAGE LOAD even if you x'ed it".
Sorry, this design is basically an in-site ad and you should know that.
I for one am an IT admin and couldn't care less about any betatesting on external sites. Not my job.
For now I'll kill this off with an adblocker, but others folks might not use one.
Public betatesting is fine, really, but doing it properly is not optional.
(Sorry for being so blunt, but everybody hates popups and you know it.)
Hello @mit Welcome to the Qlik Community! I apologize for that experience! We had to adjust settings while we were testing and I have fixed it so you will only get it one time per day for two days max.
OMG, the main page of the platform that the "enagement tool" is built upon does not impress. http://www.customershome.com/ (You need to visit it with http, https is not working...)
Also, to me this seems like a new step in some kind of competition between Qlik Nation and Qlik Community, where Qlik Nation recently launched discussions (that nobody's using) and now Qlik Community seem to want to give points for actions with rewards (kind of like Qlik Nation).
@henrikalmen really appreciate your feedback and again we are only testing this tool 🙂 I assure you this is not meant to be a competition with Qlik Nation but I appreciate that feedback as this is not the desired intent at all. Nor should you have received the above message! So, again - thank you for your honesty and we will take the feedback and re-evaluate! Best Regards - Qlik Community Team
@QFabian do believe the login is needed but agree with you it's in duplicate and likely annoying. We will take this feedback and see what can be done! We always appreciate your willingness to give us your feedback.
All the best, Melissa
