Dear All,
Qlik NPrinting May 2021 SR3, or newer, solves this issue and is available for download. Refer to the Release Notes https://community.qlik.com/t5/Release-Notes/Qlik-NPrinting-May-2021-SR3/ta-p/1872634#toc-hId-4043113....
Thanks to some conversations with Qlik NPrinting users we discovered that latest version v2109 of Excel and PowerPoint include in Microsoft Office 365 is not working correctly with Qlik NPrinting Designer. The R&D team is working right now to solve at the same time we suggest avoid installing Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint v2109 on the computers you use to edit Qlik NPrinting templates. Please note that Qlik NPrinting uses Microsoft Office only to edit report templates. Instead it is not used to generate reports.
To check the version of Microsoft Office you are using refer to https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/about-office-what-version-of-office-am-i-using-932788b8-a...
The update history for Microsoft 365 Apps is available at https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdates/update-history-microsoft365-apps-by-date

Word. PixelPerfect and HTML templates are not affected.

Hi,
Yes, based on what we know at the moment. So avoid to upgrade Office to v2109 only on the computers you use with Qlik NPrinting Designer. It also seems that only some builds of v2109 have the issue but, for precaution, avoid that version at all.
The Qlik NPrinting Server doesn't use Office to generate reports.
Thanks for sharing with us the versions you find with the issue.
Best Regards,
Ruggero
The issue is resolved! Please upgrade all NPrinting components to May 2021 SR 3.
Hi @Frank_S ,
Yes and I edited the first rows of my original article to state that upgrading to May 2021 SR3 solves.
Best Regards,
Ruggero
Check this article and pay particular attention to resolutions 1 and 3.
Try BOTH options in resolution 3.
@Ruggero_Piccoli so if we don't install Excel v2109 on the PC we use to edit NP templates, that effectively means we can't use NP to create/edit Excel based templates until this is fixed. Is that correct?
For reference we are using v2109 (Build 14430.20270 Click to Run) and also v2109 (Build 14430.20298 Click to Run) and both exhibit the same error.

Hi,
We are experiencing the same issue with Office 365 - v2109 (version 14430.202098). We are still running
a pretty old version of both QlikView (11.20 SR 18.) and NPrinting (version 19 February 2019 SR1).
When/if there's a fix for this issue, I guess we have to upgrade to last version of NPrinting in order to take advantage of the fix?
Best regards,
Anders
Hi,
Yes, you will need to plan an upgrade.
The solution, based on what we know at the moment, will be delivered with a new Qlik NPrinting Designer setup related to a new service release. The version of the Designer must be perfectly aligned with the Server version so I suggest you to plan the upgrade to latest May 2021 SR2.
Best Regards,
Ruggero
Hi,
Does this mean that the issue is fixed in May 2021 SR2 (it's not mentioned as a solved issue in the release notes) or do we have to wait for next release?
Br,
Mats
Hi,
No, unluckily May 2021 SR2 is affected. You have to wait for a new release that solves and avoid to install one of the Office version affected by the issue only on the computers where you want to use the Designer.
Best Regards,
Ruggero
Good morning,
is it known when this problem is going to be solved? Thank you very much.
Hello,
Have you been able to make progress on this problem?
Thanks
This issue is still pervasive and under investigation. It is not known when a service release will be available to resolve this issue.
It is highly recommended to rollback your version of office to resolve the issue at the moment.
