The following release notes cover the R2026-03 release of the Qlik Talend Cloud Migration Toolkit (QTCMT) on-premises upgrade tool, allowing users to upgrade from Talend 7 to Talend 8 with much less effort. Same-version migrations, inlcuding Talend 7 to 7 and Talend 8 to 8, are also supported. For questions please contact Qlik Support.

What's new

This release introduces support for migrating a Talend Administration Center (TAC) environment to a new on-premises TAC environment. The source server inventory can be viewed directly in QTCMT before any migration begins, giving a clear picture of what exists on the source server and what needs to be migrated. The migration is broken down into three steps:

Administrative assets: users, groups, projects, and user/group authorizations
Talend Projects: code upgrade to Talend 8 and artifact uploads to Nexus 3 / JFrog Artifactory
Runtime assets: tasks, task parameters, task triggers, and plans

Why use it?

Manually upgrading a TAC environment means recreating every user, group, task, trigger, and plan by hand on a new Talend 8 TAC environment. QTCMT automates that process in a structured order, preserving all asset data and reducing the risk of errors. Users also have full control over what gets migrated, with assets being selectively chosen rather than moving everything over at once. This is especially relevant now that Talend 7 has reached end of support, with Talend 8 being the only supported on-premises version.

QCB-33292	Visualization: Added padding to filter pane title	We've added more padding around the title text in the filter pane to improve readability and make it easier for users to see the filter pane title. This change ensures the title stands out more clearly within the filter pane interface.
QCB-33483	Bar Chart: Increased Tooltip Line Capacity	The bar chart tooltip now displays more lines of information, allowing users to see more details about the data points without having to expand the tooltip. This enhancement provides a better user experience by surfacing more insights directly in the visualization.
QCB-33817	Reduced chart refreshing on Qlik Sense app open	Previously, customers may have noticed intermittent refreshing of charts when opening a Qlik Sense application. This was caused by an issue where the logical model for the application was being retrieved or computed prematurely. That issue has now been resolved, so the dashboard no longer refreshes on app open.
QCB-33935	Straight Table Links No Longer Encode + Character	The + character is no longer encoded within straight table links when the value was already encoded. This resolves an issue where the + character was being encoded unnecessarily, providing a better user experience.
QCB-34527	Dataflow Import: Fixed Schema Handling Issue	Previously, some dataflow imports were failing due to missing schema information. To resolve this, a schema-defined check was added. Now, the same dataflows can be imported without issue.

Qlik Sense Mobile - Client Managed, Version 1.39.1

Updates in this release

This release includes several enhancements, along with updates to the iOS app to enable TLS 1.3 communication with Qlik Sense Server, scheduled for release in May 2026.

Known issues and limitations

There is a known issue for iOS and when you are using MAM/MDM, leaving the application in background till the offline grace period set in App Protection Policy expires. We are currently working with Microsoft to resolve the issue. Issue can be found here: https://github.com/microsoftconnect/ms-intune-app-sdk-ios/issues/654

This release delivers a strong set of enhancements across platform administration, security, and user experience - helping organizations run Qlik Sense at scale with greater efficiency, transparency, and flexibility.

Platform & Administration Enhancements
We are introducing several important capabilities to improve manageability and operational insight:

Enhanced QMC usability with support for copying and exporting table data directly to CSV, simplifying analysis and sharing of administrative information.
Task execution history adds deeper visibility into reloads and automation processes, enabling better monitoring, troubleshooting, and auditing.
Improved visibility into deprecated extensions, helping customers quickly identify where outdated extensions are still in use across QSEoW environments.
TLS 1.3 support enhances platform security with faster and more secure communication protocols.
Include script support in generated apps, increasing flexibility for automation and app generation scenarios.

Currently in Active Validation
We are currently validating database compatibility to ensure a smooth and reliable upgrade experience:

PostgreSQL 17 compatibility testing (Priority 1)
PostgreSQL 18 compatibility testing (Priority 2)

Our goal is to have both versions fully supported by the time of the May 2026 general availability release.

QCB-33776	Consistent Selection Order for Always One Value	The selection order for "Always One Selected Value" selections is now loaded correctly when opening an app. Previously, the order would update as soon as a new selection was made, potentially shuffling the order in which the selections were displayed to the user. This has been corrected, so the selection order will now be maintained based on the order of the fields, providing a more consistent experience.

QCB-33610	Qlik Engine: Fixed unexpected behavior with complex dynamic properties	We resolved an issue where the getLayout function would cause engine crashes when evaluating complex structures of dynamic properties under a qHyperCubeDef.
QCB-33609	Visualizations: Fix on invalid visualization name	We've added a sanity check to prevent crashes when an invalid visualization name is encountered. This issue previously caused the master items section to fail to open.
QCB-33579	Data Load Editor: Consistent date display with Data Model Viewer and Sheets	Previously, the Data Load Editor would sometimes display dates differently than what was shown in the Data Model Viewer or Sheets. When business logic is applied, users can freely use fields regardless of app publication status or update permissions.
QCB-33159	Improved Pivot Table Handling of Null Values	Resolved an issue where pivot tables containing null dimension values exhibited unexpected behavior during collapse and expand operations.
QCB-33102	Qlik Engine: Enhanced Nested Dynamic Variable Handling	Resolved an issue related to nested dynamic variables within qHyperCubeDef. Previously, the getLayout function was inadvertently overwriting value expression data with the evaluated value when used in nested dynamic variables.
QCB-33043	Visualizations: Master item prioritization for ambiguous names	Enhanced the selection logic in hypercubes. When a measure refers to a name shared by both a master item and a field, the system now prioritizes the master item.
QCB-33034	Hypercube: Fixed measure evaluation without dimensions	Resolved an issue where simple field measures without aggregation were not properly evaluated in dimensionless hypercubes. The evaluation now correctly follows the Only() rule.
QCB-33031	Measures: Fixed evaluation of simple fields with NULL values	Resolved an issue where hypercubes containing only simple field dimensions and measures without aggregation incorrectly evaluated to NULL. Now, when a measure contains one value plus NULL, it correctly returns the actual value instead of NULL.
QCB-33029	Multi-Session: Fixed OneAndOnlyOne Property Setting Issue	Fixed an issue where users couldn't set the OneAndOnlyOne property to false in multi-session scenarios. Previously, SetNxProperties failed to update this property. The fix eliminates the need for a GetNxProperties call before setting the property.
QCB-33027	Logout option now available for users with apostrophes in username	Addressed an issue where the Logout option was missing for hub users with an apostrophe (') character in their username. This fix ensures that usernames containing allowed special characters will see the Logout option as expected.

QCB-32926	Window Functions: Improved Handling of Calculated Fields	We've resolved an issue with Window Functions. Previously, fields calculated in a preceding load statement were not properly recognized by Window Functions, causing them to be incorrectly interpreted as null values.
QCB-32884	Charts: Improved evaluation of simple field measures	Fixed an issue where charts using only simple fields as measures didn't always display the most recent values after selections. The HyperCube evaluation logic now validates Field State, ensuring charts show the latest field values when selections are made on associated fields.
QCB-32813	Dimensions/Measures: Fixed access error for dynamic properties	Resolved a "State not found" error that occurred when accessing dimensions or measures containing dynamic properties using QIX internal type names (e.g., 'qSelectionObjectDef').
QCB-32730	Straight Table: Enhanced Expand/Collapse Functionality	In Fully Expanded mode, the expand and collapse buttons in Straight Tables are now visually disabled (grayed out) to indicate their inactive state.
QCB-32661	Pivot Table: Column width expression setting fixed	Fixed an issue in the Pivot Table where it was not possible to set the column width of a field as an expression.
QCB-32612	Simple Charts: Fixed Data Type Requirement Issue	We've resolved an issue with Simple Charts showing blank.
QCB-30908	Qlik Sense on Windows: Thumbnail not shown for on-demand app generation apps	Fixed an issue where the thumbnail of an ODAG (On-Demand App Generation) app was not displayed in Qlik Sense on Windows. Instead, the default Qlik Sense image was shown.
FEC-358	QlikEmbed: issue resolving relative URLs	When a QlikEmbed website was hosted from the internal route /extensions in Qlik Sense, the URL to fetch import-map.json that QlikEmbed relies on, was resolved with a wrong URL due to relative URLs mapping to the wrong folder. This has now been fixed so that URLs are always correctly resolved based on the origin of the host.
EN-6971	Engine setting for controlling receive timeout for qrs/dataconnections/all REST call	Added a setting for controlling receive timeout against the Repository endpoint qrs/dataconnections/all as this endpoint sometimes can take longer than 30 seconds to respond. Contact Qlik Product Support for guidance on adjusting this setting.
EC-1580	Address connector upgrade issues	This patch release addresses ODBC connection failures and slowness of loading connections in the Data Load Editor caused by missing or incorrect connector DLLs on upgrade. The DLL upgrade issues were caused by mis-numbered versions of the affected libraries. The version numbers have been corrected and upgrade will function as expected.

Known issues and limitations

The following issues and limitations were identified at release time. The list is not comprehensive but lists all known major issues and limitations.

Clients

Third-party extensions are currently not supported on mobile devices, and the Qlik Trusted Extension Developer program does not accredit extensions for use on mobile devices. Generated items might not be visualized properly on a mobile device, depending on individual device specifications, mobile OS, and the size of the Qlik Sense app.
When you consume Qlik Sense apps using the Microsoft Edge browser on touch/hybrid devices, the long-press action does not work. This prevents you from accessing functions such as an object’s context menu, which requires a long press in touch mode. This is a Microsoft Edge issue.
Workaround: If you use a hybrid device, turn off touch mode, and then turn it back on again.
Export as Anonymous does not work for mashups deployed in a domain that is different from the domain where Qlik Sense is installed. Export only works for Anonymous if the mashup is deployed in the same domain as Qlik Sense.
When using the new Load Extension syntax in the load script, the Data Load Editor syntax completion does not work well after the keyword “Extension” when trying to write the call to an SSE function (AAI function). The script still executes correctly.
Legend does not show dimension values after row number 3000.
Limitations when exporting a story to PowerPoint:
- Titles are not rescaled as HTML. Font settings are not exported.
- Storytelling effects are not applied.
- Exported charts might show fixed scroll bars, depending on the export resolution.
It is not possible to open the context menu of an org chart on a touch device.
When you choose to view data in the context menu in a dynamic chart and make a new selection in the app, you need to refresh the browser for the chart to be displayed again.

Dynamic views

Dynamic views that you delete from one app are also deleted from every other app that was using the same view. There is no workaround for this issue. Avoid deleting views that might already be in use by other apps.
When you create a new dynamic view in the assets pane, the dropdown menu item does not automatically change to show the charts of the newly created dynamic view if there are any existing dynamic views. You must click on the dropdown menu to choose the newly created view.
The data for a dynamic view is automatically refreshed whenever you open a sheet that contains charts for the view. The same happens when you enter and then return from the global selections pane, and when you add a new chart for the view. Refrain from performing these actions on the base app to prevent triggering refreshes.
The view of a dynamic chart is cleared and shows a message indicating a view constraint violation whenever you change the selection state of the base app in a way that violates the view's constraints. Refrain from changing the selection state of the base app until it has finished making use of the data in any of the dynamic view charts.
The ‘Go to source’ option on a snapshot slide (available on right-click) for a dynamic chart does not select the actual dynamic chart when you change the view to the base app sheet.
Changes to chart settings for dynamic view charts using the Exploration menu are lost after refreshing the view.
Dynamic views do not support the Trellis extension.

Managing a Qlik Sense site

The Edit pane under Custom properties in the Qlik Management Console (QMC) can currently handle a limited number of custom properties. If you want to edit custom property values in the QMC, we recommend keeping the number of custom property values to a maximum of 500. If you want to apply values without modifying them, the QMC can handle up to 10,000 custom property values.
When you remove app objects from an application via the QMC interface, deleted objects are not removed from the application’s binary file stored on the file system.
It is not possible to use a security rule on the HubSection_* resource to hide the ‘Open hub’ link from the navigation menu when accessing an app as an anonymous user.
Workaround: Use reverse proxy to redirect the ‘Open hub’ link to a preferred landing site.
Windows service Qlik Engine cannot be started on a node where the Qlik Engine service is disabled through the QMC. Every time Windows restarts for that node, the Qlik Engine service fails to start up and throws an error in Windows event logs. You can prevent this by temporarily disabling the Qlik Engine service in Windows Service Manager.
Data connection passwords containing special characters (such as "=", "%", or ";") are not properly encoded when updated via the QMC. This causes authentication errors when trying to connect to specific data sources, which could cause reload tasks to fail.
Workaround: Use the data load editor to update the password. Note that once the password is updated, the name of the data connection is automatically appended by "(domain_userId)". You can adjust this later via the QMC.

Qlik Sense Desktop

Qlik Sense Desktop can play WebM and Ogg but not MP4 files. This is due to limitations in Chromium.

Connectors

REST connector: The ‘Next token’ pagination option does not work when the pagination token has the same value for each page.
For connectors in the ODBC Connector Package only the data types listed as supported in the online help have been verified to work correctly in the Preview and Script editor. However, the ODBC Connector Package does not prevent you from loading other data types. In some cases, you can load unsupported data types with the load script.
ODBC connector: Database connectors in the ODBC Connector Package do not work properly if the username on the Microsoft Windows system running Qlik Sense Desktop contains letters that are not English alphanumeric characters.
Workaround: Change the Windows system locale to match the character set that contains the characters used in the username. For example, if the system locale on the system running Qlik Sense Desktop is set to English and a username contains Swedish characters, you must change the system locale to Swedish for the ODBC connector to work properly.
The Qlik Salesforce connector does not support PK chunking on sharing objects. PK chunking is only supported on parent objects.
The Apache Phoenix connector does not support non-Latin characters in metadata. The connector might return corrupted data or unpredictable query results if you run a query with non-Latin characters in metadata, such as table names, column names, and aliases.

Cloud deployments and Multi-Cloud

When you download a pivot table in Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS, expanded rows are not included but stay collapsed.

When you add the same object twice, using the Images node in Qlik NPrinting Designer, only the image size property of the first image is respected.

QlikView On-Demand reports cannot be connected to Qlik Sense

It is possible to select the “Enable” check box in On-Demand for reports using Qlik Sense app data. These reports are visible in the QlikView On-Demand menu of the QlikView On-Demand add-on. But if selected, they will not generate reports, and you will see an error message.

Qlik NPrinting Designer crashes sometimes with zoomed screen settings

If you experience random crashes when using Qlik NPrinting Designer, open your Windows Display Settings in the Control Panel and verify that Smaller – 100% (default) is selected. When settings of 125% or 150% are selected, Qlik NPrinting Designer may crash.

On-Demand works in Chrome and Firefox, but not in Internet Explorer (11 or older) or Edge

In some cases, when you use Qlik NPrinting On-Demand in Internet Explorer 11 or Edge, the “origin” HTTP header is not generated. This results in the error message “REVEL_CSRF: tokens mismatch”.
The workaround is to install Qlik NPrinting On-Demand on a Microsoft IIS server hosting QlikView Access point or use a different web browser.

Too many users and filters leads to Qlik NPrinting Designer errors

Qlik NPrinting Designer may be unable to open a report template if there are too many filters associated with a connection in the report's app. The following error message displays: “A task was canceled”.
This typically happens when more than 4000 filters are using fields from a connection. Sometimes, higher numbers can work. For example, 7000 filters have worked in some situations.
The workaround is:
1. Split the Qlik NPrinting app into separate apps.
2. Split the connections (possibly by using multiple connections to the same documents in different apps).
3. Split the filters across apps (so that the filter count per app is lower).

Task fails with the error 'Exceeded maximum number of retries'

Some Qlik NPrinting tasks fail with the error message: “Exceeded maximum number of retries”. This is due to a performance issue in QlikView that appears when it exports large unfiltered files to Excel.

Verify connection freezes during “Initializing…” status

Jira issue ID: OP-5278
In some rare circumstances, pressing the Verify connection button will cause the screen to freeze on the “Initializing…” status and the spinning wheel cursor. This happens when a Qlik NPrinting Engine goes offline and Verify connection is pressed before the Qlik NPrinting Scheduler is aware that it is offline. It can take up to 20 seconds before the Qlik NPrinting Scheduler determines the offline status of a Qlik NPrinting Engine.

User filters are excluded from matching and object filters

The filters associated with each user are not uploaded, or displayed, for performance reasons. Waiting for all filters for thousands of users to import would take a long time. In most cases, importing this information is unnecessary, because filters created for users often contain something like the user IDs. You can change this behavior and make all filters visible by uncommenting the line  in the webengine.config file.
To make a specific filter visible in the lists, remove its association to all users, or create a new filter with the same fields and values not linked to any user.

Cancelling an upgrade results in a corrupted environment

Jira issue ID: OP-3986
The rollback that follows a Qlik NPrinting Server or Engine upgrade cancellation may corrupt the related Qlik NPrinting installation. A rollback is triggered by errors or by clicking the cancel button during the upgrade execution. After a corruption caused by a rollback, services may be uninstalled or cannot be started.
To restore a Qlik NPrinting Server to its original status:

Retrieve a recent backup
Uninstall Qlik NPrinting Server
Perform a clean installation of the same Qlik NPrinting Server of the backup
Restore the backup

You should always create a backup before starting an update. In any case, a backup is automatically created in the folder "%ProgramData%\NPrinting" at the beginning of the upgrade process. To restore a Qlik NPrinting Engine to original status:

Uninstall Qlik NPrinting Engine
Perform a clean installation of Qlik NPrinting Engine

Adding a title to a Sense object with Assistance on generates an error on preview or task

Add title functionality is not supported on Qlik Sense objects with Assistance mode enabled. The workaround to restore the Add title functionality is to disable Assistance mode for the chart in Qlik Sense. Then reload the metadata of the connection.

Cannot export tables, columns, and cells from Qlik Sense objects made using chart suggestions

Jira issue ID: OP-7568
Qlik Sense objects made in Assistance mode cannot be used as tables, columns, or cells in Qlik NPrinting. To restore them, disable Assistance mode on the chart in Qlik Sense; then reload the metadata of the connection. Furthermore, if a Qlik Sense object made with Assistance mode is exported as a table, column, or cell using Qlik NPrinting APIs, the request will fail.

Open Type Fonts (*.otf) are not supported

Open Type Fonts (*.otf) are not supported in PixelPerfect templates. Generated reports will use a different font, and not look as expected.

Qlik Sense tables with conditionally shown columns have limited functionality

The following functionalities are not supported for Qlik Sense tables that have a "Show column if" condition set on one or more of their columns: levels, single column export, and keep source formats.

Qlik Sense On-Demand reports with selections on calculated dimensions fails

Qlik Sense On-Demand reports with selections applied on calculated dimensions will fail. However, you can apply selections on dimensions based on Qlik Sense fields. The workaround is to move the formula to the load script and use the calculated fields to apply selections to your On-Demand reports.

Qlik Sense histograms cannot be add into the Tables node

Due to the internal way of exporting Qlik Sense histograms, you cannot add them to the Qlik NPrinting Designer Tables node. If you add a Qlik Sense histogram to the Tables node, you will not receive any errors or warning messages, but the exported data will be wrong.

QlikEntities limitation with Qlik Sense entities

QlikEntity reports support Qlik Sense objects with the following limitations:

Containers are not supported, but you can use all the objects that are inside containers.
Qlik Sense sheets can be added to QlikEntity reports and exported as images. The "Extend Sheet" feature does not work.
Export in PDF and TIFF is not supported.

Embedding Excel worksheets into PowerPoint templates is not supported

You cannot embed an Excel worksheet in a PowerPoint report template. This will cause a Qlik NPrinting Designer crash. The workarounds are to insert the Excel worksheet without using the Qlik NPrinting Designer:

Create a .pptx file by using PowerPoint without involving the Qlik NPrinting Designer. Insert the Excel worksheet and save the .pptx. Then use the .pptx file as a report template.
If you have already created the PowerPoint template, export it, open the .zip file generated by Qlik NPrinting and double-click the .pptx file inside. Insert the Excel worksheet, save the resulting PowerPoint and overwrite the exiting Qlik NPrinting template by uploading the updated .zip.

Qlik Sense dynamic views limitations

Dynamic views is a new Qlik Sense feature starting from June 2020.
If you connect Qlik NPrinting to a Qlik Sense app that contains a chart used to generate dynamic views, the chart and the containing sheet are excluded from the Qlik NPrinting connection cache and cannot be used in reports.
You can connect Qlik NPrinting to a Qlik Sense app containing dynamic views. However, after a dynamic view refresh, the connection will stop working.

Reports size limit

Starting from November 2020, RabbitMQ Server (deployed as Qlik NPrinting Messaging Service) has been updated to version 3.8.3. It has an internal limit, not configurable, about messages size of 512MB. Previous limit was 2GB. As consequence, is not possible to generate Qlik NPrinting reports bigger than 512MB.

Excel print area with more than one range

Excel worksheet print areas can contain more than one range if the generation of the report does not expand the print area. If it expands, you will see an error: “Invalid Cell Name”. For example, the default setting of the Expand Range option in a Qlik NPrinting table causes the print area to change during report production, and an error is received.

Searching in Cyrillic characters is case sensitive

Using Cyrillic characters in the Search form of the Qlik NPrinting user interface is case sensitive.

The percentage "%" format is not kept in Excel reports

The percentage “%” format is not kept in Excel reports when using QlikView 12.50 (12.50.20000) or newer due to a QlikView issue. You can solve this by upgrading to QlikView May 2021 SR2 (12.60.20200) or newer.

Run verification does not check if the installed version of QlikView Desktop supports QVF

If you start a Run Verification on a connection to a QlikView document in QVF format, Qlik NPrinting cannot confirm whether the QlikView Desktop version installed locally on each Qlik NPrinting Engine is compatible with QVF file format. The check mark next to "QlikView can open the document" may be green, even if a version of QlikView that does not support QVF is installed. This is because verification only checks file permissions. If the installed QlikView Desktop does not support QVF format, metadata generation will fail.

QlikView objects with many fields with the same label are not supported

QlikView objects with many different fields with exactly the same label are not supported. Duplicated labels cause an exception during the connection cache generation. To solve this issue, ensure that each field has a unique label.

Images defined by URL in Qlik Sense tables are exported as text

Jira issue ID: OP-95797

Images linked by using URLs in Qlik Sense tables are exported as text. This affects only Qlik Sense connections. A workaround exists for PixelPerfect templates.

Microsoft Sensitivity Labels Are Not Supported

Jira issue ID: HLP-17139

The sensitivity labels feature in Microsoft Office is not supported. If used, report generation and preview will fail with errors.

As a workaround to the issue, block the Active Directory domain policy that pushes the sensitivity labels requirement to domain users.

If you have a version of Qlik NPrinting older than April 2018, you must first upgrade to Qlik NPrinting April 2018 before you can upgrade to Qlik NPrinting May 2022 (22.15.2) and then to Qlik NPrinting February 2025 SR5.

If you have a version of Qlik NPrinting older than 17.3, you must first upgrade to Qlik NPrinting 17.3. Then you must upgrade to a version from April 2018 to May 2021 SR4 before you can upgrade to Qlik NPrinting May 2022 (22.15.2) and then to Qlik NPrinting February 2025 SR5.

If you are upgrading from a version older than February 2018, all metadata caches (QlikView and Qlik Sense) will be marked as "not generated". This is due to a breaking change in the format of the metadata cache. All connection caches must be regenerated before you can edit a template or create a new connection.

You must back up your data before you proceed. Data can become damaged if a problem occurs during the upgrade. If data is damaged, a backup is required to restore the repository. See: Backup and restore of a repository
After backup, you must follow the instructions for upgrading on the help site page Qlik NPrinting upgrade .

Upgrade to November 2018 or newer

If you are upgrading to February 2025 SR5 from September 2018 SR2 or older you must:
• Open port 4997 outbound on Qlik NPrinting Server and inbound on all Qlik NPrinting Engines.
• Reinstall all your Qlik NPrinting Engines and provide a password for certificate exchange.
• Open the Engine manager in the Web Console.
• Open the detail page for each Engine and send the certificate after inserting the same password you used during the engine’s reinstallation.
Qlik NPrinting Engines stay offline until the certificate exchange is performed. Older Engine versions cannot connect to a Qlik NPrinting February 2025 SR5 Server.

QCB-33742	Improved handling of internal Server Side Extensions cancellation	We’ve resolved an issue with Server Side Extensions to ensure that when an SSE call is cancelled, the system will properly handle the cancellation and automatically retry the call as designed.
QCB-33846	Fixed an issue where files within folders could not be opened consistently in Data Manager (QCS)	Previously, in QCS, opening files stored in folders through Data Manager could result in errors. This was due to a mismatch between the default path and the last opened path. The search bar re-opened to the default base path, while the browsing experience retained the last used path — causing the folder to be missing from the search bar and triggering an error. This issue has been resolved, so that within Data Manager, the last folder is retained the next time its path is in use.
QCB-33850	Removed window function RecNo iterators	The window function was previously using iterators to derive the record number within groups, but this would fail when the same window function was evaluated more than once per load. The iterators have been replaced with a more robust solution.
QCB-33610	Qlik Engine: Fixed unexpected behavior with complex structures of dynamic properties under qHyperCubeDef	Resolved an issue where getLayout caused engine crashes when complex structures of dynamic properties were evaluated under a qHyperCubeDef.
QCB-33776	Improved consistency of selection order for Always One Selected Value selections	The selection order was not correctly loaded from an app with Always One Selected Value selections. Due to this the order would update as soon as a new selection was made, possible shuffling the order in which the client displayed the selections. The loading has been corrected and selections derived from Always One Selected Value should now have a valid selection order based on the order of the fields.

QCB-33241	Unable to export Data flow with Japanese Data flow name.	Previously, it was not possible to export data flows with names which included Japanese characters because characters. Instead, a 500-error code was received, with little information. The cause of the problem was the characters were not encoded correctly. Now, customers can export data flows with Japanese characters, as expected.

If a user attempts to add a data connection with the name and type of an existing connection within a given space, an error message will display after clicking the Create button.
QCB-33384	Deleting variables issue when two different sessions	When variables were deleted in one user session, the state management of another user session could sometimes recreate those variables in the persisted app. This would effectively revert the intended deletion of variables.
QCB-33534	Window Function: Improved Handling of If-Statements	We’ve resolved an issue with Window Functions in conjunction with if-statements. Previously, if-statements with a window function nested in the condition expression was evaluated before all the calculations for the window function was completed, causing incorrect results.
QCB-33538	The Join clause now respects the memory limit for the Reload.	The Join clause now respects the memory limit for the Reload.
QCB-33565	Issue creating Vertical Bands in Pixel Perfect Template	Testing before applying the update version is not working. Instead with the new corrected version it is possible to add vertical bands and they work as expected. Tested the creation of a new complete template and it works.
QCB-33579	Preview Data in Data Load Editor no longer displays dates which differ from Data Model Viewer or Sheets	Previously, Data Load Editor displayed dates which differed from those in Data Model Viewer and Sheets. The mismatch was specific to scenarios where dates were used as primary keys. Specific properties were needed to avoid collisions when rendering. Now, properties have been added for display and sorting so that row IDs are handled correctly.
QCB-33159	Improved Pivot Table Handling of Null Values	Resolved an issue where pivot tables containing null dimension values exhibitedunexpected behavior during collapse and expand operations.
QCB-33575	Data Manager: Field Selections Preserved in Edit Selections	We've fixed an issue in Data Manager where field selections weren't being retained when using the Edit selections feature.
QCB-33612	Fix syntax highlighting break when using empty strings (“”)	Fixed an issue in the Qlik language parser that mishandled the use of double‑quoted empty strings (“”).
QCB-33658	An OAuth user can publish all apps	To allow for a user to publish an app the system used to require update privilege. This had unfortunate side effects where some users needed unnecessary privilege. Some time ago we added a specific publish_source privilege, unfortunately the oath users did not get it.

Resolved an issue where entity bindings for images, cells, variables, and formulas were not displayed in the PixelPerfect template editor, although report generation remained unaffected.

Excel pivot table formatting changes after upgrade

Excel pivot tables containing custom background colors lost their original formatting when exported to PDF, resulting in yellow backgrounds being rendered as gray. The problem affected only the following versions: February 2025 SR3 (25.5.11) and February 2024 SR7 (24.4.28).

Report production crashed with Excel structured references

Designer authentication dialog fails to appear with SAML

Qlik NPrinting Designer authentication dialog failed to appear when using SAML. The Qlik NPrinting Designer now uses a modern component to load the modern browser based login window instead of Internet Explorer, ensuring correct authentication behavior.

Qlik NPrinting must be installed only on C: drives

Qlik NPrinting Server, Engine, and Designer can only be installed on C: drives. Any attempt to install them on a different drive will result in task failures.

Image size settings are not respected when adding the same object twice

When you add the same object twice, using the Images node in Qlik NPrinting Designer, only the image size property of the first image is respected.

QlikView On-Demand reports cannot be connected to Qlik Sense

It is possible to select the “Enable” check box in On-Demand for reports using Qlik Sense app data. These reports are visible in the QlikView On-Demand menu of the QlikView On-Demand add-on. But if selected, they will not generate reports, and you will see an error message.

Qlik NPrinting Designer crashes sometimes with zoomed screen settings

If you experience random crashes when using Qlik NPrinting Designer, open your Windows Display Settings in the Control Panel and verify that Smaller – 100% (default) is selected. When settings of 125% or 150% are selected, Qlik NPrinting Designer may crash.

On-Demand works in Chrome and Firefox, but not in Internet Explorer (11 or older) or Edge

In some cases, when you use Qlik NPrinting On-Demand in Internet Explorer 11 or Edge, the “origin” HTTP header is not generated. This results in the error message “REVEL_CSRF: tokens mismatch”.
The workaround is to install Qlik NPrinting On-Demand on a Microsoft IIS server hosting QlikView Access point or use a different web browser.

Too many users and filters leads to Qlik NPrinting Designer errors

Qlik NPrinting Designer may be unable to open a report template if there are too many filters associated with a connection in the report's app. The following error message displays: “A task was canceled”.
This typically happens when more than 4000 filters are using fields from a connection. Sometimes, higher numbers can work. For example, 7000 filters have worked in some situations.
The workaround is:
1. Split the Qlik NPrinting app into separate apps.
2. Split the connections (possibly by using multiple connections to the same documents in different apps).
3. Split the filters across apps (so that the filter count per app is lower).

Task fails with the error 'Exceeded maximum number of retries'

Some Qlik NPrinting tasks fail with the error message: “Exceeded maximum number of retries”. This is due to a performance issue in QlikView that appears when it exports large unfiltered files to Excel.

Verify connection freezes during “Initializing…” status

In some rare circumstances, pressing the Verify connection button will cause the screen to freeze on the “Initializing…” status and the spinning wheel cursor. This happens when a Qlik NPrinting Engine goes offline and Verify connection is pressed before the Qlik NPrinting Scheduler is aware that it is offline. It can take up to 20 seconds before the Qlik NPrinting Scheduler determines the offline status of a Qlik NPrinting Engine.

User filters are excluded from matching and object filters

When you:

Import a report

The filters associated with each user are not uploaded, or displayed, for performance reasons. Waiting for all filters for thousands of users to import would take a long time. In most cases, importing this information is unnecessary, because filters created for users often contain something like the user IDs. You can change this behavior and make all filters visible by uncommenting the line  in the webengine.config file.
To make a specific filter visible in the lists, remove its association to all users, or create a new filter with the same fields and values not linked to any user.

Cancelling an upgrade results in a corrupted environment

The rollback that follows a Qlik NPrinting Server or Engine upgrade cancellation may corrupt the related Qlik NPrinting installation. A rollback is triggered by errors or by clicking the cancel button during the upgrade execution. After a corruption caused by a rollback, services may be uninstalled or cannot be started.
To restore a Qlik NPrinting Server to its original status:

Retrieve a recent backup
Uninstall Qlik NPrinting Server
Perform a clean installation of the same Qlik NPrinting Server of the backup
Restore the backup

You should always create a backup before starting an update. In any case, a backup is automatically created in the folder "%ProgramData%\NPrinting" at the beginning of the upgrade process. To restore a Qlik NPrinting Engine to original status:

Uninstall Qlik NPrinting Engine
Perform a clean installation of Qlik NPrinting Engine

Adding a title to a Sense object with Assistance on generates an error on preview or task

Add title functionality is not supported on Qlik Sense objects with Assistance mode enabled. The workaround to restore the Add title functionality is to disable Assistance mode for the chart in Qlik Sense. Then reload the metadata of the connection.

Cannot export tables, columns, and cells from Qlik Sense objects made using chart suggestions

Qlik Sense objects made in Assistance mode cannot be used as tables, columns, or cells in Qlik NPrinting. To restore them, disable Assistance mode on the chart in Qlik Sense; then reload the metadata of the connection. Furthermore, if a Qlik Sense object made with Assistance mode is exported as a table, column, or cell using Qlik NPrinting APIs, the request will fail.

Open Type Fonts (*.otf) are not supported

Open Type Fonts (*.otf) are not supported in PixelPerfect templates. Generated reports will use a different font, and not look as expected.

The following functionalities are not supported for Qlik Sense tables that have a "Show column if" condition set on one or more of their columns: levels, single column export, and keep source formats.

Qlik Sense On-Demand reports with selections on calculated dimensions fails

Qlik Sense On-Demand reports with selections applied on calculated dimensions will fail. However, you can apply selections on dimensions based on Qlik Sense fields. The workaround is to move the formula to the load script and use the calculated fields to apply selections to your On-Demand reports.

Qlik Sense histograms cannot be add into the Tables node

Due to the internal way of exporting Qlik Sense histograms, you cannot add them to the Qlik NPrinting Designer Tables node. If you add a Qlik Sense histogram to the Tables node, you will not receive any errors or warning messages, but the exported data will be wrong.

QlikEntities limitation with Qlik Sense entities

QlikEntity reports support Qlik Sense objects with the following limitations:

Containers are not supported, but you can use all the objects that are inside containers.
Qlik Sense sheets can be added to QlikEntity reports and exported as images. The "Extend Sheet" feature does not work.
Export in PDF and TIFF is not supported.

Embedding Excel worksheets into PowerPoint templates is not supported

You cannot embed an Excel worksheet in a PowerPoint report template. This will cause a Qlik NPrinting Designer crash. The workarounds are to insert the Excel worksheet without using the Qlik NPrinting Designer:

Create a .pptx file by using PowerPoint without involving the Qlik NPrinting Designer. Insert the Excel worksheet and save the .pptx. Then use the .pptx file as a report template.
If you have already created the PowerPoint template, export it, open the .zip file generated by Qlik NPrinting and double-click the .pptx file inside. Insert the Excel worksheet, save the resulting PowerPoint and overwrite the exiting Qlik NPrinting template by uploading the updated .zip.

Qlik Sense dynamic views limitations

Dynamic views is a new Qlik Sense feature starting from June 2020.
If you connect Qlik NPrinting to a Qlik Sense app that contains a chart used to generate dynamic views, the chart and the containing sheet are excluded from the Qlik NPrinting connection cache and cannot be used in reports.
You can connect Qlik NPrinting to a Qlik Sense app containing dynamic views. However, after a dynamic view refresh, the connection will stop working.

Reports size limit

Starting from November 2020, RabbitMQ Server (deployed as Qlik NPrinting Messaging Service) has been updated to version 3.8.3. It has an internal limit, not configurable, about messages size of 512MB. Previous limit was 2GB. As consequence, is not possible to generate Qlik NPrinting reports bigger than 512MB.

Excel print area with more than one range

Excel worksheet print areas can contain more than one range if the generation of the report does not expand the print area. If it expands, you will see an error: “Invalid Cell Name”. For example, the default setting of the Expand Range option in a Qlik NPrinting table causes the print area to change during report production, and an error is received.

Searching in Cyrillic characters is case sensitive

The percentage "%" format is not kept in Excel reports

The percentage “%” format is not kept in Excel reports when using QlikView 12.50 (12.50.20000) or newer due to a QlikView issue. You can solve this by upgrading to QlikView May 2021 SR2 (12.60.20200) or newer.

Run verification does not check if the installed version of QlikView Desktop supports QVF

If you start a Run Verification on a connection to a QlikView document in QVF format, Qlik NPrinting cannot confirm whether the QlikView Desktop version installed locally on each Qlik NPrinting Engine is compatible with QVF file format. The check mark next to "QlikView can open the document" may be green, even if a version of QlikView that does not support QVF is installed. This is because verification only checks file permissions. If the installed QlikView Desktop does not support QVF format, metadata generation will fail.

QlikView objects with many fields with the same label are not supported

QlikView objects with many different fields with exactly the same label are not supported. Duplicated labels cause an exception during the connection cache generation. To solve this issue, ensure that each field has a unique label.

Images defined by URL in Qlik Sense tables are exported as text

Images linked by using URLs in Qlik Sense tables are exported as text. This affects only Qlik Sense connections. A workaround exists for PixelPerfect templates.

Microsoft Sensitivity Labels Are Not Supported

The sensitivity labels feature in Microsoft Office is not supported. If used, report generation and preview will fail with errors.

As a workaround to the issue, block the Active Directory domain policy that pushes the sensitivity labels requirement to domain users.

If you have a version of Qlik NPrinting older than April 2018, you must first upgrade to Qlik NPrinting April 2018 before you can upgrade to Qlik NPrinting May 2022 (22.15.2) and then to Qlik NPrinting February 2025 SR4.

If you have a version of Qlik NPrinting older than 17.3, you must first upgrade to Qlik NPrinting 17.3. Then you must upgrade to a version from April 2018 to May 2021 SR4 before you can upgrade to Qlik NPrinting May 2022 (22.15.2) and then to Qlik NPrinting February 2025 SR4.

If you are upgrading from a version older than February 2018, all metadata caches (QlikView and Qlik Sense) will be marked as "not generated". This is due to a breaking change in the format of the metadata cache. All connection caches must be regenerated before you can edit a template or create a new connection.

You must back up your data before you proceed. Data can become damaged if a problem occurs during the upgrade. If data is damaged, a backup is required to restore the repository. See: Backup and restore of a repository
After backup, you must follow the instructions for upgrading on the help site page Qlik NPrinting upgrade .

Upgrade to November 2018 or newer

If you are upgrading to February 2025 SR4 from September 2018 SR2 or older you must:
• Open port 4997 outbound on Qlik NPrinting Server and inbound on all Qlik NPrinting Engines.
• Reinstall all your Qlik NPrinting Engines and provide a password for certificate exchange.
• Open the Engine manager in the Web Console.
• Open the detail page for each Engine and send the certificate after inserting the same password you used during the engine’s reinstallation.
Qlik NPrinting Engines stay offline until the certificate exchange is performed. Older Engine versions cannot connect to a Qlik NPrinting February 2025 SR4 Server.
