How can I track app RAM usage over time?

How do I optimize my applications so that they can stay under the limit?

I am happy to introduce our App Analyzer for Qlik Cloud, that can help answer these questions and more.

The app provides insights on:

  • App, Table and Field memory footprints
  • Synthetic keys and island tables to help improve app development
  • Threshold analysis for fields, tables, rows and more
  • Reload times and peak RAM utilization by app
  • And much more!

The App Analyzer uses a single REST connection to iterate over application metadata endpoints within a tenant. The data retrieve can then be measured against tenant quotas and user-defined thresholds to empower Admins to act on the insights that the app reveals. To see the app in action, check out this demo:

A few things to note:

  • This app is provided as-is and is not supported by Qlik Support.
  • It is recommended to always use the latest app.
  • Information is not collected by Qlik when using this app.
Check out Optimizing Qlik Sense SaaS Apps with App Analyzer for an in-depth dive into the App Analyzer.

The app as well as the configuration guide are available via GitHub, linked below.

Any issues or enhancement requests should be opened on the Issues page within the app’s GitHub repository.

Hello @Daniel_Pilla

I try to create an automation which list and store all sheets in my tenant.

But I have a problem, private sheets are not listed, even when I'm the owner of an application.

You achieve that in "Qlik Field Usage Automation" and I don't find where in the automation.

Can you help me ?

The goal of this is to check if user with professional license create or not sheets in applications.

Thanks.

Hi @paulcalvet ,

A few comments here:

  • Private sheets are visible to the respective owners of those sheets. You are not able to see private sheets of other users in Qlik Cloud currently. I believe this has been requested within Ideation and you can always choose to add your feedback there.
  • It is unwise to try and load engine-level metadata from all apps across a tenant, as Qlik Application Automation is only able to open applications with data. Meaning, you will be lifting every single application within your tenant into RAM. There currently isn't the ability to open apps without data in QAA -- feel free to add this as an ideation request if you think it would be valuable (I do think it would).
  • The Field Usage Automation collects data from Base sheets and also provides the ability to collect data from Community sheets and Private sheets (from the executing user of the automation).

I hope this helps!

Thanks @Daniel_Pilla, very useful ad usual 😉

  • For private sheet, my bad, it's clearly marked here!

The management of professional user is very bad in Qlik Cloud compared to QLik on prem. We don't have visibility on what users do. There is a lot of ideas on that subject on ideation, do you have any information abour that ?

Thanks,

Hello,

I am using App Analyzer to get apps information created in personal spaces. But it shows the details of apps that are already deleted by the user.

Please help me to understand how can I identify the deleted apps from personal space.

I need only the currently present app information from personal space.
