What I have found to be a good best practice is your test environment and production enviroment have a file (same name in both) tht contains the unc pathing to directories to read from and write to. Each file would have a different path (one for test and one for production).
In your qlikview application you 'include' the file, so when you are in test, it is looking at the files defined in your test path, and in production it will look for the files in your production environment
