As June is coming to a close (or more like a grinding halt! Where did the time go??), I reflect on an amazing month of firsts, milestones, celebrations, and special events. I would like to share a few of them with you.

- Releasing my first book!
- Riding Kong and Velocicoaster with some of my WWQ favs!!
- All things related to the kickoff at Qlik Connect of #WomenWhoQlik. What an amazing job by all involved who brought this dream to life!
- Opportunity of a lifetime to work in Munich for the summer
- Dream vacation with my family to celebrate so many amazing milestones

I could go on and on, but suffice it to say that I am truly lucky and content with so many amazing memories from June. Grateful. Thankful. Blessed.

1. I began working with QlikView 7 in 2007.
2. I bought a personal QV desktop license in 2011 so I could use QV at home/personally! (did I mention I bleed green??!!)
3. I built a personal use, registration and scoring system in QlikView to organize and score dance competitions.

I have been at Qlik for 7 years in consulting and I absolutely love it.  The variety of customers from all different industries and working in various business areas a "learners" dream!   Great company to work for but we need more women!   Feel free to message me with any questions.

So, came back a few weeks ago, went on a short part-time break to one of our islands and I still needed to write an article about Qlik Connect. So wrote down a lot of text, and listened to some Jazz and Blues songs. What better way I could do than to ask ChatGPT to help me with that? 

My steps in this process:

1. Write the article (with all the names)
2. Anonymize the article (remove all the names)
3. Craft a prompt for ChatGPT (to have a blues song)
4. Copy paste my anonymized text in to ChatGPT 
5. Got a Blues Song back
6. Feeling Critical and Argued with Chat's results and adjusted the lyrics
7. Checked it again and was satisfied (it got an okay by me)
8. Searched for some photos to accompany my LinkedIn post
9. and posted it on LinkedIn 

Today it has over 3K views... not bad at all 🙂

Last week, hundreds of Women Who Qlik descended upon Orlando during the Qlik Connect conference- and it was an amazing experience!  

I wanted to share a few of my top highlights, specifically celebrating Women Who Qlik:

• Women on the mainstage: From host Katie Linendoll and keynote speaker Meredith Whalen of IDC to the ladies of the Qlik AI council (3 out of 4 members are female!) and Luminary Susan Dean from Takeuchi sharing her Qlik success story (and rocking Qlik green heels while doing it)- it was inspiring to see women on the mainstage. If you weren’t there in-person, you can still watch the keynotes on-demand!

• Live from Qlik Connect:
  • LinkedIn Live: Catch a replay of the Women Who Qlik Live from Qlik Connect, featuring Sally Jacobs, Priscila Papazissis, Angelika Klidas, and Gwen Stamp.
  • The CUBE interviews: Multiple women were featured in live interviews, including Priscila Paolinelli, Angelika Klidas, Jamie Kiser, Mary Kern, Beatriz Accioly, Emma McAlister, Miranda Foster, and the Qlik AI Council. Check them out on-demand!

• Sessions and connections: It was amazing to get to meet and spend time with women I had previously only met online. We led and attended sessions, took part in workshops, got certified- and even rode rollercoasters together!  Our Breakout Session Women in Data: with Pricila Papazissis, Gwen Stamp and I was insightful, and we were humbled by the support and attendance as well as the stories from our audience.  This session shined the light on the challenges women have in Tech.

The excitement generated for the Women Who Qlik movement was incredible to see. There was a true spirit of camaraderie, and everyone was eager to support one another.

I loved the Women in Data session at Qlik Connect yesterday...was great to see so many awesome women in tech. I mentioned the Women in Analytics conference in July so I thought I'd post it here in case anyone wanted to attend. Not sure if Qlik has a presence there or not but it would be awesome if they did!

Can you believe it, we’re almost halfway through the year! As we kick-off this new group in Qlik Community, it seems like a perfect time to do a mid-year check-in on our own work-life balance.  

The Deloitte report "Women at Work 2024: A Global Outlook" provides a comprehensive global analysis of the current state of work/life balance and its impact on women in the workforce. Drawing from 5,000 women across 10 countries, the report delves into the challenges and opportunities, and for the purpose of our space, we want to emphasize work/life balance. 

Highlighted within the report is the correlation between work/life balance and overall well-being. The report sheds light on the disproportionate impact of work/life balance challenges on women, particularly those facing intersectional barriers such as race, ethnicity, and socioeconomic status. It advocates for targeted interventions and systemic changes to address these disparities and create a more inclusive and supportive environment for all employees. 

Overall, the Deloitte report is a compelling call to action to prioritize and champion work/life balance initiatives among many other key initiatives.
