Hi
Is it possible to set a default text colour for a whole document ?
Bill
Settings > Document Properties > Font tab

Thanks for the quick reply - but on the Settings > Document Properties > Font tab, I cannot see how to adjust the Text Colour.
Bill
I would say its object specific then, you can format it once and copy formatting.. I was certain it was in document properties. You can do it for the object header formatting etc on the caption tab but not the values

I agree that certainly seems like it should be in the Settings > Document Properties > Font tab - I'll keep loooking elsewhere for it.

Hi Bill,
In the main, the best way to set defaults within the document - around fonts, caption colours, wallpapers etc. is through the use of a Theme file. You can use the Theme Maker from within the properties of just about any object to take elements of that objects properties and write them into an XML file. You can then set that file as the default theme for your document ( Settings \ Document Properties \ Presentation ) or even your machine ( Settings \ User Preferences \ Design ).
Having a default theme set can make it a lot quicker to create good looking documents and it can help promote consistency between documents.
However, regarding default font colour, it would appear that some objects (such list boxes and multiboxes) you can't change the font colour on. The list box you can get around by making charts of type Straight Table look like a list box (see: http://community.qlik.com/qlikviews/1261) but multibox would be trickier.
It feels like there should be a simpler way of changing the font colour on these objects. I will ask around to see if I can find any suggestions.

Many thanks for your comments, they are informative & useful.
Yup - the Theme Maker is certainly a good way to go. Just a crying shame that some objects, as you say, like list boxes & multibox cannot have their text colour changed.
We have corporate standards for colours, inc. text and it would have been nice to able to adhere to them.
