For an expression, is there something I can put in the Comment field, so that when a user hovers over the heading for an expression, the expression's syntax is displayed in the tooltip? I know I could copy and paste but I want it to automatically update if I change the expression so I don't have to rely on my flawed memory. I am currently trying to do this in a Pivot Table, if that matters.
Thanks!
Hi Margaret,
One option would be, do not provide a name in the "Label" field. This way, when the user hovers on the column he will be able to see the entire expression. And you may provide a name to the expression in the "Comment" field.
What do you mean comment like this //Expression OR /* Expression */
Where you are expecting, If not more information required
No. On the Expressions tab of the Chart Properties dialog box, there is a place to put a Comment (with an option to use the Expression Edit box). I am wondering if I could put some syntax in there that tells QlikView to display the syntax of the expression in the popup tooltip on hover.
I dont think qlik has default Comment option for Metris, You can achieve this by Text object from Caption Help comment. Then use what ever you want to use over there and then put 100% opacity from General Tab
Hope this helps

Thank you!! I had seen that but I had forgotten what circumstances made it possible.
It will be helpful if you can close the discussion , if it solved your problem
Well, it would be nice to be able to display the comments in the tool tip even if there IS a label...
