General Script Error

I am executing transform qvw through QMC. Qvw is fetching data from QVD.

When I execute it first time, it is failing with general script error. When I re-run same script without any change, it runs successfully.

When it fails first time it is just showing 'General script error'. I checked, whether QVD's are corrupted. But that is not the case.

The main twist I am getting is, when I execute same qvw in my local machine, it does not throws any error. But, when I try to run it on server through QMC it is throwing 'General script error'.

Request inputs to analyze this issue to find root cause.

  • Can you post the log of the reload to see where the problem happens?
  • Does it happen at the beginning, at some specific point like when calling a CONNECT, LOAD, LET or STORE statement?
  • Is the application open somewhere else while reloading (i.e.: by the developers in their laptops)?
  • Is it using any mapped drives to read from?
  • Are the QVDs in the folder, and if they are, are they empty?

Hi,

I would say that you're trying to store a QVD that is locked.

Try renaming the QVD and see if windows says it's being used by anything else.

Maybe that your local QVW is locking the file, and the server can't save it.

Close all instances of QlikView (local and server) and try again to see if it helps.

Felipe.

Hi Miguel,

I am not allowed to upload screenshot. It is happening while loading few tables(Dimension tables). Application is not opened while reloading. It is not using any map drives to read data from. QVD's are present in mentioned folder and are not empty.

Hi Felip,

I am not storing QVD. I am fetching data from QVD for my transform script.

And when it happens exactly: first time since you upload a new version, first time in the last 60 minutes, every time if triggered by a schedule (i.e.: not run manually or pressing the Run button in the QMC)?

Without the log we are blind, I would suggest to contact directly Qlik Support.
