Hello, I'm trying to see if there is a way to select and concatenate random values from columns in QlikView. More specifically:
we have a QlikView file that contains information on over 100K people. Each person has a unique ID number. We have a DEMO view that contains real data but displays fake names. What I typically do to support this view is import a spreadsheet that has random variations on First/Last names linked to all ID numbers. Here's an example:
The problem is that our list of real names is always changing and I am constantly re-calculating these "Fake Name" spreadsheets.
Is there an easier way to accomplish this? What I would love to be able to do is to import a list of Fake First Names and Fake Last Names and run a script in QlikView that selects a random Fake First Name and concatenates it with a random Fake Last Name.
Any ideas?
why don't you use scramble instead?
Look for scramble instruction, it can solve your problem
go to
Settings -> document properties -> scrambling
