all sorting unresponsive except sorting by text

I am trying to sort the chart in the attached QVW from highest to lowest (left to right). I tried sorting by Y-value but the chart sort order is unresponsive. I also tried sorting by expression using the formula used in the expressions tab, again without any luck. It seems that the only time the chart sorts at all is when sorting by text.

Any ideas of what might be causing this?

Hi Thaumas,

Unfortunately, you have put some security on this file so it cannot be opened.

Sorry about that....the security should be pulled out now.

Thanks

Hi,

I don't see a problem! The chart is sorting highest to lowest for me.

What did you do on the sorting tab to get that to work? Would you mind attaching the QVW where you were able to get the sorting to work?

Hi Thaumas,

I didn't change it! I opened your document and it worked perfectly.

Is it possible for you to test it on another PC? Perhaps something needs to be re-installed?

You could try to clone the chart and see if the new copy is still failing to sort.

I just tried - sorts in QV 9 but not in QV 8.50. Both 32-bit.

Hi,

Sorts fine for me in both 8.5 and 9.0 - both 32bit.

Hi Stephen,

I tried cloning the chart. I tried recreating the chart from scratch. I also tried testing it on another PC. No luck with any of these approaches. I'm curious...what version of QlikView are you running on your machine?

Thanks for your help!

Tom

Hi Tom,

I have both 9 and 8.5 but I originally opened in 9.0.
