i created variables...but they did not show..please solve the issue

Sales:

LOAD OrderID,

     ProductID,

     Product,

     CustomerID,

     EmployeeID,

     OrderDate,

     Margin,

     Sales,

     Cost,

     Quantity

FROM

C:\Users\PITCHAIAH\Desktop\Sales.xls

(biff, embedded labels, table is [Orders$]);

Sales1:

LOAD *

Resident Sales

Order By OrderDate;

DROP Table Sales;

LET vMinDate=Num(Peek('OrderDate',0,Sales1);

LET vMaxDate=Num(Peek('OrderDate',-1,'Sales1');

i give the single quotes around sales1...still i got a eror in this line.date($(vMinDate) + rowno() – 1) As TempDate

THis is going to sound weird but when i copy/pasted your text locally i got the same error but after typing it out again (no joke) it worked.

I think you may have had a weird character in there. See error

So please just delete the whole load and copy/paste this instead....

TempCalendar:

Load

  Date( $(vMinDate) + RowNo()-1) As TempDate

Autogenerate

$(vMaxDate) -$(vMinDate)+1 ;

Yup that is definitely it... the minus sign '-' in your text has an ascii code of  8211 !!    a minus sign should have an ascii code of just 45

here is the result of when i put the character from your script into an ord() function (it returns ascii) vs a regular minus sign .

Crazy !!  how did you manufacture that minus sign ! ?

Glad it worked.  Multiple issues it seems in the end.  please mark all helpful / correct answers to your post. 

ps: i'm still curious where you got that funky -  sign from ... will you tell me ?
