Qlikmaps is an extension for creating maps in QV dashboards. I believe there is a free demo version but if you want all the functionalities for different geographic regions, you need to buy the full version. www.qlikmaps.com for more info on how to use and buy.
svg map is another extension that is free and is very widely used as a heatmap. there are other mapping extensions that are free using google maps with clusters, heatmaps, etc. the requirement dictates which extension will be useful.
