Continuous X-axis for date and grouped bar-chart

I am trying to create a combo chart with following:

• Vertical reference line
• Display all month label on x-axis
• Grouped bar

FWIK, I need to have continuous x-axis.

But if I set the x-axis as continuous, it will force the chart to stacked bar, and even the interval of x-axis will be scaled.

Is that true and it have no other work-around for this kind of charts?
