Picking Up Values(Urgent)

Hi,

Can any one tell me how to take values within three months in first field first value & from another field last value?

Ex.-I am having data for months start value & End Value

Month   Start Value  End Value

April      100             200

May       150            130

June       120            100

and I want to pick values from qvd as for Quarter1 100 & 120 which is months start value & months end value

Actually my requirement is that, If I am having data monthly I have to calculate quarters & for that to calculate difference between values I have to take first start value of  starting month that is april & 100 and for end value ending month of that quarter that is june & end value 100
