Brand Memory Server

Hello everyone!

I hope someone can help me with a question, what it happening is that I have QV Server with 240 GB, but when it puts another memory (16 GB) the server starts falling, is it possible that be because of different Brand of memory (12 of SAMSUNG Brand and 4 of HYNIX Brand, each one of 16 GB)

Thanks!

Sometimes if you use 2 different brands of memory  you need to make sure you pair them in the right slots.  I know you have more than 4 slots for RAM but for example if you had 4 slots (1,2,3,4) you would want to put one brand in slots 1 and 3 and the other brand in slot 2 and 4.

Also another question is it the same type of memory example both DDR3 and same speed (ex 1600 mhz).

If the speed is higher, make sure your motherboard supports that speed of RAM

Hello! thank you for answering me. Regarding to the affair, all memory modules have the same features (speed, DDR3, potential), but what you meant was to put memory interchanging slots? I mean the order of the memory modules? should I alternate them?

Typically, yes.  I would recommend you look up your motherboard and see the recommending configurations for the different channels of memory slots.
