Hi
This is a "bug" I came across a few months ago - since working around it I've not tested to see whether it still happens on the latest version but thought it may be interesting to point it out in case others have the same problem or haven't noticed that they do.
Some of the data I work with involves displaying various issues and their location, we then attach the coordinates to a map to make it all user friendly. However a while ago a user came to me to say that jobs were being displayed incorrectly onto the map.
The data came through from the database as an X and Y coordinate and if these were displayed split then it was fine.
However, as soon as we joined these together with a colon the numbers changed. Normally I hate using the word "randomly" when working with data as there is often a logical reason to a change or you can see what's happened but in this case, I had no idea why it was changing.
Our resolution to the issue was to swap from using a colon to adding a space either side.
Though a clumsy fix and didn't find the underlying issue of why it was happening it did have the desired effect of stopping the numbers changing.
Thanks
Hi Lora,
how and where do you join these two fields?
