Can i install Qlikview 11 on Windows 2003 server ?

I need to get to an ancient mainframe and store the tables into qvd so it can be decommissioned.

I would like to do this using Qlikview client and an ODBC connection.

Any comments most welcome

thanks in advance

Could you clarify the question? What server is your data on and what database?

Hello Rob,

The data is on an AS400 running PRMS.

I managed to "find" one ancient server where we have IBM iSeries software that still works.

This allowed me to connect to the AS400 by recreating an ODBC connection.

Currently i can view tables in the DB using Cognos impromptu version 7.2 !!!!

If i can load Qlikview onto this server then potentially i can pull out all the tables and store them.

Obviously as we have no entity relationship diagram , we will have to decide whether to try and derive a db structure and what level of resource to throw at this project.

Legacy systems always pose their own challenges as i'm sure you know .

Yes, you can install Qlikview Desktop on Server 2003.

Try the SQLTABLES script statement to get a list of tables in the DB.
