I have a bunch of questions... I would appreciate your input a lot. These are the following:
1) While designing the report in Designer as an excel doc, I noticed that
a) when inserting a table & check the box that there's a header row, I can't filter the rows at all. Only the first row after the header is filter-able. Nevertheless, this changes if my table selection cells are -except for only the fields -one extra blank row under them. This allows me to filter everything but there's also some (blank) data -of course- . I do that as a workaround because I haven't yet found another way.
b) when again working with a table in the Designer, cell value alignment (left, right, center) isn't applied.
2) The preview works only as a preview as it seems? Is there any use of editing anything on there?

a) I am not sure but in the designer, try to increase the table size you are dragging to fill the entire space below.
b) Make sure you are unticking Keep Source Formats.
2) Yes, you are right. It is only a preview. Editing there won't change anything.
1a - yes - you need to use that extra one empty row and then use <deleterow> tag to remove it. That tag is available under “extras”
