Hi,
I am asking another user to open up a QVW across a network and he having an error on a table.
"Allocated memory exceeded."
He is also in the Phillipines where I am in UK.
Are there any settings I should look for that are country related?
His specs are:

I did'nt ask the user to close all other apps, I will be asking shortly, is 200mb a large QVW? I cant see how it is.
yes ...200mb is a large file with less RAM but for the sever it will small because the server RAM size is more
Based on what you are saying I would think that the way dimensions are made and or how expressions are made could cause the issue.
Which charts show this error? Is there more than one. Could you share how the dimensions are specified and the expressions?
Is just one pivot table and I have changed the expression, and will be trying again shortly, I am sure its a RAM issue.
Yes it is a RAM issue - and it is the cause of it we are trying to find....
Dimensions and expressions can contribute to a lot of memory consumption - even run out of memory if they are complex.
I think the free Document Analyzer QlikView-application might be helpful for you to analyze possible memory problems in your data model.
I have check the RAM on the users PC and its about the same as mine with physical memory at 72-76%
So I dont see any issues there, when the QVW is opened across the network and after I saved it.
There still is an allocation memory issue, all we are doing is opening it.
Why would Qlik recalc a pivot table at this point?
Ok so the same licence and similar PC spec in the UK across a network works fine.
But the 2 users overseas are not able to run it, we all have similar PC's, any one have this issue?
We are not on a server version, I really dont thik its RAM although I will optimize it and load 1/3 data and see what happens,
I note that the user is using a Personal Edition license. Is he doing a PE recovery on this that is causing the data to be flushed? If so, does the error go away one he reloads?
-Rob
I updated the licence to a profesional licence and after that the data was in the QVW when opened, but still the same data allocation issue on one simple pitvot table. Other users within the UK are opening and running the QVW without error, its the offshore laptop that is the problem.
I see that you are running SR8, he is running SR3. Perhaps that's the difference.
