Create a calendar before any tables are created

Hi,  I need to plot application usage - but - there are days when there are no user logins.  If I try to plot this on a simple line chart then it will 'skip' days where there is no activity.

If I need to show each day on the x axis I guess I need to create a main calendar for every day from my start date and then 'left join' my usage table onto this calendar so this will allow me to show every day on the x-axis regardless if there is any activity.  Is there an easy solution for this?
