Difference between USER and ADMIN access

HI All

Need a clarification on a simple thing.

A person with ADMIN privileges has access to all data in the app. A person with USER privileges can only access data as defined in the security table.

The above text is written on Qlik Help, though I have noticed that both the accesses behave similarly on the access point. How does this justify the above statement? and what are the other differences?

Regards

Pratyush

On access point an ADMIN user is effectively a USER. The access privileges difference would usually can notice in qv desktop environment. Otherwise, an admin could also be restricted to data like a USER.

@prat1507 what you have mentioned is for access to data within the app. E.g Sales dashboard if you give sales head admin access he/she can access the entire data to app. For Region Manager is you give access to western region he/she will be able to see only west data

Who sees the app and streams are governed by security rules.

HI Tresesco

Thanks for the clarification but I'm facing one issue, where I try to login as ADMIN and I'm able to view the dashboard whereas while I try to login as USER, it says access denied. Can you help me with a probable reason to this.

One possibility could be that the application might not have relevant data for the specific user. Try unchecking 'Strict exclusion' on document properties.

The user has relevant data points, I think I need to provide NTNAME instead of USERID, as I'm specifying the ids as domainname/username. Please correct me if I'm wrong!

That's right. Nonetheless, the same is applicable for admin user as well.
