Hi,
Could any one assist me with the error code interpretation? I tried to create connection to external ODBC data source. Connection has failed and in the dialog window it stated as follow:
Connection Test Failed
SQL##f - SqlState: S1000, ErrorCode: 31004, ErrorMsg: [Jade Software Corporation][JADE ODBC Thin Client] Connection failed to connect
What is the Error Code 31004 mean?
Thank You
31004 Connection failed to connect Cause This error occurs if the TCP/IP layers fail to open the requested connections. JADEMsgs - 7.0.12
Action Check that the host name is mapped to the correct IP number in the host file. Check that its port number matches the port number of the target listener.

For those who also have this issue, @johnca's response helped point me in the right direction. I had a similar issue where I had a production and test Jade environment on the same server, and it appeared they were setup the same. So this was really driving me crazy.
Turns out the firewall had been used to lock it all down, and the production port had been opened but the test had not. So your firewall settings could be a good place to check
