Help with selection expression

I have a guage which is picking up the value in a particular field for the current month.

So my spreadsheet has field [CurrentWkPgView] which contains 4.

The value on my dial is 4.

What I want to do is ALWAYS show this field value if NOTHING is selected

BUT if

a date range is selected to display the value of another field

[No. of pages viewed per session]

I suggest that you post a document that contains representative date and the relevant sheet objects. Be specific about what you want to see when a date range is selected. More information will mean less guesswork and more accurate advice.
