Hi All,
Here my requirement is to export few columns from a straight table or Pivot table into excel sheet.
When I try to export data from straight/pivot table entire table is getting exported. I know QlikView treat entire table as one object and will export entire table.
But my client requirement is to export few of the selected columns only from a table into excel sheet for their further analysis.
Appreciate your help on the same!!
Thanks
Shekar!!
do they have a filter on what they want to export or do they just want to export a "N" number of rows ?
you have to provide a more details into what is the actual requirement
Hi Ramon,
They want to export a "N " number of Columns not "N" number rows .
They want to select no of columns and want to export them into excel sheet from a table , instead of exporting all columns from the table.
Please let me know if you need any more information on the same!!
Thanks
Shekar!!
I think I understand what they want to do, but can you provide a quick example ?
are they expecting to be able to pick dynamically whatever columns they want ? do they want to be able to skip between columns ?
Yes Ramon,They want to pick columns dynamically and want to skip between columns as well.
For example given a table contains 10 columns.
They want to pick columns randomly what ever columns they want (ex:1,2,4,6,8) by skipping columns like:3,5,7,9,10.
Thanks,
Shekar!!!
You may look at the "Reports" tab in the "Whats New in QlikView11.qvw" file (comes with QlikView desktop tool - at C:\Program Files\QlikView\Examples\Documents folder). Here the solution allows users to select (adhoc) specific dimensions and metrics and accordingly the straight or pivot table is build.
Then they can use the export to excel button to export it to a spreadsheet.
Yes,Sudeep
I suggested the same to my client where I created list box for all the dimenisons and Metrics and based on Dimension & Metric selection the straight table will get display and then export the table into excel sheet.
But the above solution is not impressed them much:-)
Thanks,
Shekar!!
