Hi All
I need to be able to add the object ID into the QV Audit log. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
What is recorded at the moment by default:
Server Started Timestamp - Document - Type - User Message
What we need is:
Server Started Timestamp - Document - Object ID - Type - User Message
We want to know when "Restore" or "Maximised" is selected on a object.
This will help us determine what is not being used in our apps as all of our objects are minimised by default and a user has to select "Restore" or "Maximise" to see any results.
We will then be able to build new simplified apps, leaving out the obvious objects that are just not being used.
Any info would help, even if it is not a complete answer

Hey there Steve Fish,
I have the same issue here, I would like to know how can we add the Object ID to a Audit Log file.
I've already tried with zero success to enable Extensive Auditing in the Server. I've seen some Audit file containing the information about the Object ID with QVS 12 I guess, but currently I'm working on a Dashboard to control the Audit log files in a QVS 11.2 that generates Audit Logs without the Object ID. How can we add this vital information?

PS: I hope you can find some insight in this question.
The object or sheet ID is indeed in the Audit* logs under the column "Id". You need to have the Audit Logging enabled in the QMC for the server and for the document.
Hey there Miguel,
How can I enable for the server and for the document?
Best regards,
MB
Server: QMC > System > Setup > QlikView Servers > expand and click on the server or cluster name > Logging > Enable Audit Logging
Document:
I've followed all of your recommendations and found out that I've already enabled all the three options you've told me.
Is there something we're missing?
All fields in the Audit Log file that I can have are:
Server Started,
Timestamp,
Document,
Type,
User,
Message
Is this a problem in a specific QlikView Server version? I'm using the 11.2 R9
I know for a fact that there are QlikView Server versions where it produces Audit log files with these fields:
Server Started,
Timestamp,
Document,
Type,
User,
Message,
Id,
Session
What is missing in my files are the fields Id and Session. Is there a way to enable the Server to produce Audit log files with these missing fields?
Best regards,
MB
Is it because I don't have enabled to true inside this file:
C:\Program Files\QlikView\Management Service\QVManagementService.exe.config
Like you've suggested in this thread?
Does QlikView Keep logs as - resource access, configuration changes, administrative action, etc. ?
I really need to change to "true" this line of code?
Best regards,
MB
This setting is used to audit the activity on the QMC, not the apps themselves. I can help you definitely to understand for example who is creating or running tasks or who changed this setting, but not the activity within the app.
I would recommend to check with Qlik Support. My latest QV11.20 version was SR15, now everything is 12, but we started with SR11 or 12 and I have been gathering audit logs since. They will be able to tell you how to enable or if it is possible at all.
Hey Miguel,
Thank you for your advices and sharing your knowledge. Unfortunately the support for the version 11.2 ended in 31st of March of this year and I can't request any support from Qlik for this issue here. If you know anything more on this matter ti would be helpful, if not I consider this thread closed because it seems there is no solution for this issue.
Best regards and have a great day,
MB
