Wondering if anyone has run into this issue.
Since upgrading from 8.5 to 9 we can no longer see the script execution details when reloading the data.
One developer can't see any information in this box when he is loading from a QVD. If he is loading from a database it's not a problem.
Another developer sees this issue on and off -sometimes she can see the details sometimes the screen is gray.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
It's still happening on V9 SR5.
Quite annoying.
" anyone?"
Hello, boys and girls,
if you run the script from the scripteditor you see the information while loading, if you start it from the application, you get a gray screen!
Another problem, if you have a hidden script you see no longer information even by debugging!!!!
I am still seeing this problem in QV10
I am seeing the issue in v10 too. I am pulling data from SQL server and no matter how I reload (file menu, ctrl+r, reload button in script editor), at least 80% of the time the main window goes white, the progress window comes up as just an outline with no content, and the application becomes unresponsive. When it loads successfully, it loads in a matter of minutes, but when it does what I just described it will go hours and not load anything.
This is getting very frustrating. Yesterday I spent 3 hours trying to get the load to run ONCE. Wastes a lot of my time!
Any ideas?
This seems to be an ongoing bug - Any QlikTechers who can comment? I am definitely still seeing it in QV10 SR1.
A useful tip I have found is that if you run the script from the Debug window you always seem to see all the progress in the the script execution window. Also - even though you see nothing happening and the script execution window is gray it appears that the script is still executing and it will finish normally. It's just a bit frustrating if you have a script that takes a long time. Not proven but I think if you run it once in Debug it seems to reset the problem!
I will try it in the debug window, but I think my experience is different than yours because my script is very short-running (<1 minute) and I have left it in this state for hours thinking it is working in the background and just not showing me any progress. The log confirms that no progress is made beyond the initial formatting rules for time/date/money, etc.
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll give it a try.
I am facing the same issue with OLEDB connections. If connect statement is tested in a separate QVD document, it is over within a seconds whereas when it is a called via VB in a complex QVD it just hangs. There is nothing in log file and scipt execution window is not being updated. In debugger mode it passes through as normal. In my opinion this problem should be addressed by Qliktech.
I am having the same issue as badlam. Very frustrating! on QV11.0 SR2.
