Separating feild

hi,

i have feild like this 015821 for exm.

i need to make a new feild with the 5 position from left, in the exm the feild will show the num 2.

how do i make it ?

Hi u can use the Left, right or mid functions to create a new field.

if u want 5 postions from the left  u can use Left(fieldname,5)

Hi, use this:

MID(Field, 5,1)

TRY THIS

mid('015821',5,1 ) returns '2'.

Should work fine.
