Show Sheet Conditional interferes with OnActivateSheet ?

I have a document where user selections on the multibox make specific sheets or tabs visible using the Sheet Properties Show Sheet Conditional. I want to use a trigger with the sheets like a OnActivateSheet or OnLeaveSheet but it seems like when only one sheet is visible at at time then the OnActivateSheet or OnLeaveSheet triggers don't fire like they do when a user actually clicks on the tabs to move between sheets. Has anyone else run into that problem?
