Weird text format error: hyphen appears to be double when it isn't

Hi,

I have a problem with some text fields containing hyphens. I am retrieving data from two different sources, one .txt file and one .csv file. I am using Qlikview to compare these the fields of the two tables, and putting the ones not existing in both in a table.

Some fields contain hyphens (" - "), and in Qlikview one field is interpreted as not being equal even though they are. After some investigation, the source files looks like they only contain a single hyphen, but in my qlikview table one looks longer than the other resulting in qlikview returning false when compared. I have also checked for double spaces in the source files but none found.

The hyphen problem looks like this:

Anyone experienced this before?

Hi,

Can you post sample data with files to analyze more.

I think I found the error. The source document is named with an en-dash, instead of a simple hyphen.
