is it possible to create a Dynamic Axis in Bar chart..?

we are showing Month wise Issues Counts in the Bar chart , Current Month along with its last 2 months will be shown in that chart.

Requirement is : our users wants to change the Axis Scale . Some times starting Point is 0 or some times they want some values in the                               Starting point.

is it possible to give Dynamic nature to Axis Scale .

Please suggest how to do , and generally how Qlikview takes the chart axix Scale limit..?

it will be great if some one suggest some thing on this.

Best Regards,

V.

you may define your requirements for dynamic axes in tab axes

not only hard coded values are allowed, but expressions as well,so the expressin

calculates the values

Vishal,

As i know - If you want to use X-Axis values for dynamic you can use hrlinder

Then, Normally qlikview consider as 0. If you want to pause your BRD values then you can pause with

Static Min - 10

Static Max - Depends

Static Step - 5/10

Thanks Rudolf for your Response ,

Just now After the meeting got Some Clarity about the Actual requirement

here we are using Bar charts to Show Source Issues Count and Destination Issues Count. comparing both the counts.

For some Bars the Difference is very less which we can not identify in the first glance.

So we need some kind of setting in the Bar chart which help us to identify the Small Difference Between the Bars clearly.

Can you suggest Some thing for this..

V.

can you post small sample

for first answer I would define an Expression to get  the difference between both and define this Expression to different axes (e,g, right axes). so you get a better resolution

but a table would Show the difference better as you would even see very small changes

Vishal,

One way is NOT to force-0 on the axes. That way - the axis will have relative limits. Meaning if numbers are ranging between 1000 and 1200, rather than showing axis from 0 to 1300, it will show 900 to 1300 - so that the difference between data points is much more obvious.

If as initially you mentioned, if you want to dynamically changes the axis limits: Use variables for Static Min and Static max... and may be step as well, if needed.

And then give the users - Input boxes or Sliders to capture the variable value.

hi Rudolf ,

PFA , Attaching the Qvw to the main thread .

in which we are showing Source and target Counts based on  year. where the Difference is very less in Hundreds while the values are in Lakhs.

We want to show the that small Difference part Clearly to the User.
