Introduction
This is a QlikView extension object that integrates Google Maps Javascript API V3 and a third party library called MarkerClusterPlus into QlikView.
Load a set a coordinates into QlikView and visualize them together with this extension. The clustering feature is create when you have alot of data points and needs to group/cluster them together for greater visability and performance.
The maxzoom property defines at what zoom level you want your markers clustered. The grid size property controls how big or small cluster grid size you want.
You can either use the extension 'as is' or use it as a base to further customize it to fit your needs.

Added custom marker support. Now you can specify a url for an custom marker. Accepts all major image file types.
Thanks Alex, but actually that option is checked. Maybe we need to reset the server :S
HI Alex
I'm having this problem too, any advice would be appreciated. I can see and use the map fine in QlikView desktop. But the users can't see it when accessing QlikView through the browser. I've ticked the allow extensions box in QMC.
We are using -
Server Info:
QV 11.20.11718.0 SR1 (x64)
Internet Explorer 8
Thanks
Charlotte
Hmm strange. Works fine over here.
If you are running IIS make sure the app pool identity has access rights to the Extension folder.
I know QV11.0 SR1 has some issues with extensions but 11.2 should work fine.
Hi. I too had a few issues with server setup after a 100% success on desktop. Turned out to be the windows user I had installed the extension under - I think if you open your QVW in AccessPoint and try and add a new extension object - if it's not on the list then it hasn't been installed in the correct location. I simply copied and pasted the unzipped files in the qar and all works perfectly. If you can see the object but its blank then it suggests you have a www/proxy issue ? If you are struggling with it please contact me directly. Andrew.
PS Alex - the users simply love your map ! Even at BDWT it brought crowds to my demo app 🙂
Hi thanks Andrew. Yes I think it's not installed in the correct location as I can't add any extension objects in the browser. But how do I know where the correct location is? At present I have it in C:\ProgramFiles\QlikView\Examples\Extensions\
And also in my own user directory.
Thanks
Charlotte
Ah, on a server it should be placed in %programdata%\QlikTech\QlikViewServer\Extensions\Objects
Hi Alex
I installed the .qar in that folder and I still have the same problem....
I'm leaving site now, but will need to get a solution so any further help would be great!
Thanks
Charlotte
As in installed do you mean un-zipped the contents into that folder?
It's not enough just placing the .qar file into that directory. Change the file extension .qar to .zip and unzip that folder into %programdata%\QlikTech\QlikViewServer\Extensions\Objects
It's working now
Apparently it was a proxy issue. Now the users are sooooooo happy with the maps.
Thanks Alex!
Hi Alex,
Yes I installed OK I believe. Got a message telling me files were installed - QlikView opened. I'm going to look at the server settings and proxy as per Berenice reply below.
Thanks
Charlotte
