Paste text into a Qlikview Search Box issue

I am new to Qlickview so please forgive me if this issue has been discussed.  However I could not find a thread.

We are deploying Qlickview through our operations and several users have stated that when they copy information from one place (Primary Web data as Text using IE) and paste the info into a Qlickview Search Box, the system will not find the data.  IE: Part Numbers, Serial Numbers, etc.  The data is in the system however Qlickview does not locate.

Upon doing a little research the problem occurs when the user does a paste via one of two methods:

Mouse Right Click - Paste

or

Menu, Edit, Paste.

I have confirmed that the Search Box is set to Wildcard Search.  The strange thing is hat Ctrl-V does work.

Different users are more comfortable with the different methods - causing questions.  Any thoughts?

I have had the same issue in Ajax. I can't copy nor paste. Dunno whats causing that. I right click > copy and when tried to paste Ctrl+V didn't seem to work. It would be nice if someone could explain why. We use QV 10 SR6

Thanks

It does work for me. I copied a text from notepad and then clicked inside the search object and right clicked and pasted it.

Edit: Sorry my bad, i verified it in QV Desktop, and it did not worked for me too at Ajax. but Ctrl+V did work

I am guessing, but maybe it could be something to do with the client Web browser settings.

Also maybe see how it behaves with different brand of client Web Browsers.

I meant copying within the app itself in Ajax, not from an external file into the app. Like copy the value from a table box and paste it into search of another list box. Doesn't work in IE or Chrome.

In desktop qlikview, you must right click over the value you want to copy, then select the option "Copy to clipboard > Cell Value".

The problem is that in AJAX this option doesn´t exist.

I think that there is no simple solution for that.

I do not think so, this functionality exists. I even checked one of the demo apps at qlik.com and there too i was not able to paste using RightClick-> Paste (actually there was no option to Paste)

You need to contact Qlikview Administrators. May be Henric Cronström can help you in this.

If you use the WEBVIEW functionality of QV Desktop, you´ll see that the option "Copy to Clipboard" and "Paste" do not apear in the right click menu.

Hi

I have just tested using Ajax via AccessPoint [QV 11.2 SR5] with the Chrome client web browser and paste works fine for me.

I did a quick Google on Chrome paste not working and most hits seem to suggest the unable to paste issue is being caused some Chrome extensions.  [I only have a couple of basic extensions installed].  It also mentions that this can happen on miost web browsers.

We are using QV 11.20.120118.0 SR3

The Mouse - Right Click - Paste string shows in the Search Box as "ETW97406L314" and Paste with Ctrl-V shows as
"*ETW97406L314*".  It looks like the Wildcard (*) is lost with the mouse paste process.
