QlikSense GeoAnalytics Error: Unsuccessful Location Lookup

Hi Guys,

Idevio GeoAnalytics maps return me the error "Unsuccessful Location Lookup" for some location (countries).

Surfing on the net i've found this thread Qlik GeoAnalytics - Troubleshooting a location lookup which is exatly my case, so the problem is that Idevio Map is not able to geo-locate some countries because the country name i'm using is not "mapped" on idevio coutries DB.

Now... to resolve the problem i would like to know which is the correct country name that Idevio Map is able to recognise and geo-locate. Does exists a list of coutries that Idevio Maps is able to recognise ? Is this country list stored in some local file of the extension ?

I would like to avoid using ISO Codes because when i pass over the map with the mouse i want to see the exatly country name and not Codes.

I would also avoid using custom "Info Bubble" to put the coutry name because i like the provided data representation of the "Auto Info Bubble" which is not possible to create/design by using the custom one...

Hi,

You can use the Load operation in the QGA Connector to explore the countries in the location db.

load.png

Use the Country name as dim and the geometry as location measure.

See the attached app.

I've found the solution !

By zoom the Idevio map on the "non geo-located" country/city is possble to see which is the correct country name that Idevio Map is able to recognise and goe-locate!

Great answer Jonas and thanks for the qvf, it's really useful !

Can you tell me why there is an "unmapped" area between Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina ?

Hi,

According to Natural Earth is this a disputed area, unfortunately, there are some areas like this in the world.

Hi , when I open the Countries app, it has a lib named GA. Could you please specify how did you configure a  connection string to pull the list of countries from the Geo Analytics server Database.
