format/standard for dimension in Area layer

Hi folks,

Working with IdevioMap5 & Area layer I’m troubled to perform German regions and sub-regions. Any help/hints regarding the following questions are very much appreciated:

• Which format/standard for Germany should be used as dimension by the Area layer so that IdevioMap5 can work with?

          I’ve tried the following in QlikView but none seems to work:

• NUTS: for example DE1(Baden-Württemberg), DE2(Bayern), DEG(Thüringen)...
• Numbers: 01(Schleswig-Holstein),...09 (Bayern),... 16 (Thüringen)
• Abbreviations: BE(Berlin), BY (Bayern), NW(Nordrhein-Westfalen)...
• Can IdevioMap5 work with KML-files containing polygon geo data? If so, how exactly?

Hi Denis,

You can check codes and names using the connector "Load" function.

Pick "Adm1 area", country code DE

/*

Operation: Load

Dataset

Name: Adm1

Type: Standard areas and points

Geometry kind: Area

Type of data: Adm 1 Area

Country code(s): DE

Name of service: default

*/

KML files can be used, load with Sense, save the geometry as a QVD, load into QV.

However I would recommend using Shapefiles or GML files instead and load them with Load function in the connector. Try the function "Simplify" afterwards, will improve performance of most indata files.

I'm still troubled though: as fa as I understand the Area Layer does not have the connector “Load” function in QlikView – this is possible only in Qlik Sense, isn’t it?

How is it possible to load Shapefiles or GML in the connector in QlikView?

The load function is located in the connector, check out "Getting started with GeoAnalytics for QlikView"

Hi Patric,

thank you very much for the hint.

Now I've got it and it even works ...half way though: by subregions it does not show any boundaries.

Example:  by the selected state Bavaria the map recognizes its counties correctly pointing them with bubbles, but all this without boundaries on the counties level.

Any help  appreciated.
