Nprinting Server & Engine executables don't respond (version May 2021)

Hello,

We are testing the implementation of Nprinting May 2021 on a 2016 Virtual Machine.

Server and Engine executables don't respond, so they don't run (we tested all realease IR, SR1, SR2, SR3, SR4 : all release are KO) The February 2021 executables (Initial release) run on that same VM but the release SR1 doesn't work.
Do you have any idea of the cause of this problem?
Are there firewalls or other elements that would block the use of these versions? Thanking you in advance, Kind regards.

Check that:

  • The files were not damaged during the download process. Re-download the files to be certain of no data corruption during the download process.
  • Right click on each downloaded file, check the 'General' tab properties and if the file is in a 'Blocked' state, make sure to unblock each file

  • Avoid installing over the network
  • Move the installation files to the NPrinting Server, right click on them to run as administrator.

Kind regards...

Hi,

From my previous answer under https://community.qlik.com/t5/Qlik-NPrinting-Discussions/Ex%C3%A9cutables-Nprinting-Server-amp-Engin...

Windows 2016 is supported by Qlik NPrinting May 2021 https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/May2021/Content/NPrinting/DeployingQVNprinting/System-requirem... so it should work. We need more details to understand what can be the problem. If you are upgrading from a previous version please read the upgrading chapters on the Help site and the Release Notes of your final version.

Was you able to install/upgrade both the Server and the Engine? Are the Windows services not starting? Check also that the Windows user configured in the services meets all the requirements listed in the help site. Did you checked the logs? Do you see any error message?

Best Regards,

Ruggero

It was that : "Right click on each downloaded file, check the 'General' tab properties and if the file is in a 'Blocked' state, make sure to unblock each file" !!
