NPrinting connection failed with QlikView 12.8

Hi All,

I am testing QlikView 12.8 version with NPrinting reports.My current NPrinting Server version is May 2022 SR1.

While I am creating the NPrinting report connection to QlikView application which is present in Qlikview 12.8 test environment,I am getting error "QlikView Server is not reachable".

Can anyone suggest why I am getting this error?Is NPrinting 2022 SR1 not compatible with QlikView 12.8?

Hi,

The minimum Qlik NPrinting version that supports QlikView 12.80 is May 2023 Initial Release. Refer to https://community.qlik.com/t5/Release-Notes/Qlik-NPrinting-Release-notes-May-2023-Initial-Release/ta...

You can refer on public Release notes to check the first version of Qlik NPrinting that will support a specific version of QlikView or Qlik Sense.

@Adorable09 Make sure the Qlik view server and the QVW physical path is online.

@Anil_Babu_Samineni what do you mean by online?I am able to open the Qlikview 12.8 application from my local and using the same path in NPrinting connection.

Hi @Adorable09 

  1. bookmark this ( https://help.qlik.com ) page as your favourite and use it - it is your best friend!
  2. once on help site - search for your error - it will likely link you to this: https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/May2022/Content/NPrinting/Troubleshooting/Verify-connection-to...
  3. The error suggests that there is no connectivity between NPrinting server and QlikView server. That could be for various reasons and it can depend on connection type. Since you are not saying if you are using Server or Claster i will just assume it is server (QVP) connection. First thing to troubleshoot it would be to:
    1. RDP to NPrinting server as NPrinting service account and try to use QlikView desktop with option Open in Server and use QVP connection to the desired document - is this working for you?
    2. Ince you fix this problem run verifications again as there may be other issues
  4. Versions compatibility - since now you have your best friend link (https://help.qlik.com) you can check compatibility versions by yourself - right? In fact that would be the first step before trying to do anything as QlikView 12.8 is not listted as compatible version for the version of NPrinting you have: https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/May2022/Content/NPrinting/DeployingQVNprinting/System-requirem... Lech_Miszkiewicz_0-1706666084818.png

 

 

So now you know - version is unsupported as document so the first thing will be to bring it all up to supported configuration and then you follow the usual steps to configure connection again. Knowing link to help site make sure you study all requirements, accounts requirements, ports requirements etc as there is a lot to configure, setup and ensure all is on the right supported configuration.

@Lech_Miszkiewicz Thanks .I wanted to check version compatibility only as we will upgrade to latest QlikView version which is 12.8 but it seems NPrinting 2022 May SR1 doesn't support QlikView 12.8.
