In order to compare same group of data, we are able touse “Qliqview 11 Comparative Analysis”.

For instant: it’s possible to compare “geographical  sales” in the same regions but in differentplaces(e.g. different cities). Of course in the previous version of Qlikview samecomparison possibility existed, however it wasn’t so easy. At the moment it’spossible to add more variables.

Now I’m going to show how we can do this with Qlikview11

  • Let’s start with creating exemplary data set.
  • LOAD * INLINE [
    ID, AD, ADET, TUTAR,BOLGE , IL , TARIH
    1, ALİ, 10, 1000,AZJA,ANKARA, 01.01.2010
    2, VELİ, 5, 500,AZJA,ANKARA, 01.01.2010
    3, CAN, 5, 500,AZJA,ANKARA, 01.01.2010
    4, CEMAL, 5, 500,AZJA,ANKARA, 01.01.2010
    5, KEMAL, 5, 500,AZJA,ANKARA, 01.01.2010
    6, SAMİ, 5, 500,AZJA,ANKARA, 01.01.2010
    7, KEMAL, 5, 500,AMERYKA,ANKARA, 01.01.2011
    8, CİHAN, 5, 500,AMERYKA,ANKARA, 01.01.2011
    9, ŞAHİN, 5, 500,AMERYKA,ANKARA, 01.01.2011
    10, SALİM, 5, 500,AMERYKA,ANKARA, 01.01.2011
    11, ALİ, 10, 1000,AMERYKA,ANKARA, 01.01.2011
    12, VELİ, 5, 500,AMERYKA,ANKARA, 01.01.2011
    13, CAN, 5, 500,AMERYKA,ISTANBUL,, 01.01.2011
    14, CEMAL, 5, 500,EUROPA,ISTANBUL, 01.01.2012
    15, KEMAL, 5, 500, EUROPA,ISTANBUL, 01.01.2012
    16, SAMİ, 5, 500, EUROPA, ISTANBUL, 01.01.2012

    20, SALİM, 5, 500,AFRYKA,ADANA, 01.01.2012
    ];
AD – name,ADET – unit, TUTAR – sum, BOLGE – region, IL – city, TARIH - date
  • Don’tforget to save your project
  • Now we’re choosing:  „SettingsMenu” -> Document Properties”-> „General” -> “Alternate States”
qlikview_comparative_analysis1.jpg
  • We define two groups which we’re goingto compare
qlikview_comparative_analysis2.jpg
  • Now, in orderto compare regions we have to create ListBox.
Choose “BOLGE” field and „Group 1” from AlkternateStats Menu.To create second ListBox choose “BOLGE” againand “Group 2” from Alkternate Stats Menu. In this way we are able to compare these two groups. qlikview_comparative_analysis3.jpgDid you notice that at the beginning of our project we were definingsame two variables?
  • Our laststep will be creating bar chart. To do this, we have to use variable:“IL”(city) and two Expressions:
  1. sum({[Group1]<IL = $::IL>} ADET)
  2. sum({[Group2]<IL = $::IL>} ADET)

qlikview_comparative_analysis4.jpg

When our Comparative Analysis project is ready, fromevery LIstBox we choose two different regions and now we can start analyses.

qlikview_comparative_analysis5.jpg

It’s possible to do different,more particular comparisons, using expression:

sum({[Group 1]<IL = $::IL ,boyut2 = $::boyut2 >} ADET)

separating names with comas.

That’s all.

Can I ask you to rework this as a document and a QVW? Or a movie.  As a forum post it isnt coming thru with the appropriate screen shots.

Thanks for posting about this, but I can't seem to view the screenshots. So I can't follow most steps on this tutorial.

I would be glad if you could re-post or edit the screenshots^^

Thanks.
