Hello Qlik Community Members, We have been very busy over here making strides to improve our Qlik Community. We welcome feedback please share with us in the Community Corner.Thank you for all your efforts to help one another in the Qlik Community - this is, after all, what it's all about. People helping People.
1. Blog Updates
Blog authors may choose to publish a 'blog teaser' - 1 or 2 sentences that describe the article. In the feed display on the main blog page, if a teaser exists this text will display in the feed, otherwise body text will display.
Blog pagination. For blogs with multiple pages of comments, we have added pagination possibility at the bottom of the page
2. Draft Articles - Did you write a post, save it as a draft and now can't find it. YIKES! Well, we fixed this. You can find all your draft articles on your profile page. It's all the way at the bottom so you might have to scroll down a bit before you see it. Your profile page is found right near your avatar (top right of community)
3. New Forum for Qlik AlertingA new forum has been created for our newly acquired product f/k/a "ping" - the Qlik Alerting forum is now open and ready for business. Go ahead and have a look, ask a question or help another member.
4. Popular ArticlesAs a means to surface more content in more places, you will notice the following update:
On discussion boards you will notice a new custom component on the right nav for most 'popular' articles. Articles with the most likes will appear here.
5. Gamification !We have deployed a much needed update to our gamification system. Keep in mind this is only phase 1 and we know there is so much more to do. Please read this article to learn more about our gamification improvements and to learn about what's coming in Phase two - send us feedback! This was a very big deal, as it impacted every single community member. We hope you like your new rank icon and all the new badges!
6. Events and WebinarsWe have improved how we organize events by type so that you can filter on the types of events that interest you (eg., podcast, webinar, etc). We recommend you subscribe to the events page so that you don't miss any updates - this page is updated on a weekly basis.
Tip: Important announcements also post regularly to our home page carousel so be sure to check there often.
7. Improvements to SearchWe have enabled OOTB functionality to allow the user to determine their search 'reach'. Both at the top level for global search as well as within the search field on each board you will have a drop down that will enable you to expand or narrow your search criteria. If you select Knowledge Base this will retrieve articles that reside on document boards only.
a hint at what's coming in June 2020:
- a new board dedicated to author written and approved articles by members of our support team. These will be more "official" articles as only members of the Qlik Support Team will have the ability to publish here.
- Featured member of the month! We will soon start showing off those that contribute and help the most! Stay close to the home page. We will call this "Round of Applause"
Dear Community, When we launched on our new platform in November 2018 a very limited set of gamification options were deployed and an out-of-the-box ranking structure was utilized. We are now evolving to the next phase. On Monday, May 11 we are deploying 'phase 1' gamification updates to our Qlik community. Phase 1 will accomplish 4 objectives:
New ImageryNewly created by Qlik Brand & Creative Services Team, all rank and badge imagery will be updated utilizing the Qlik brand color palette and I'm confident you will find them far more fabulous than what we have today.
Increasing # of badge opportunitiesWe have added over 50+ new badge opportunities! Which means you will be able to REALLY collect them and show them off on your profile page. You can see what badges another member has by hovering over their name in the community. While we know this is serious business, it is also meant to be fun! (note: May 11, 2020 - when we go live with the new badges this will trigger a notification alert in the community if you've already earned that new badge. For our most active members, this may mean many system alerts. For this reason we decided to do a slow roll out. It may take a few business days for all the badges to be 'live' - this is nothing to be concerned about).
Order of the new badges going out:May 11-Likes Given- Topics Created

A sneak peek at a few of our new badges:
New Rank NamesNew Rank names have been customized for Qlik Community. They are designed to show a progression in ones level of credibility and also to be globally easy to understand. We vetted our rank names with our Community MVP's as well and we thank all MVPs for their feedback. If your rank name was "Original Title" it will automatically change to "New Title" as follows:
New Rank IconsRank Icons are visual indicators of a persons rank. Our new rank icons are prominently displayed on user posts and on leaderboards. Some ranks are receiving an updated image while some ranks had no icon whatsoever, so this is a nice improvement.
To learn more about what changes to expect I encourage you to review the attached deck.
There is so much more we know we can do with gamification. Trust me, we know! Please keep in mind this will be an evolution. We hope you will enjoy the changes - we plan to deploy on Monday, May 11 - in the Evening (EST)
See you online and go get those badges!
Hello Community Members, The months of February and March had the following updates made on Qlik Community:
1. Third Party Qlik Jobs - the page was cleaned up substantially with posts prior to 2019 archived. Two labels have been applied to the page "Jobs Available" and "People Available".
2. New group launched QlikView to Qlik Sense. This group supportssupports customers taking advantage of our Analytics Modernization Program and provides Q&A, best practices and resources on migrating apps from QlikView to Qlik Sense.
3. Another group launched in support of COVID-19. All are welcome to share insights and sources of factual data.
4. NAV updates. 4a. New Icons were uploaded to the nav bar and home page for Data Analytics and Data Integration Forums.
4b. Insight Bot added to Navigation Menu, Qlik Sense Mobile shifted lower on Nav and one of the Qlik Sense forums has been renamed.
5. Modified search bar text to be location specific. No change in functionality here. When searching within a specific location the search results will render results from that location. The text residing in the search box makes that more clear - two examples belowYou have the option to expand search results by removing the search term using the ' x '.
If you need to expand your search option just remove the search term by clicking the ' x '.
6. Subscribe or Unsubscribe to blogs easily and with just one click from the main blog landing page.
7. View count now visible at the top levelYou no longer have to click inside the post to see the view count. Also, view count, likes and comments are now displayed as an icon.
We hope you enjoy these updates!
This week our Qlik Community has reached a significant milestone - 100k members! Over the past year and a half, the Qlik Community has practically doubled in size and we have made countless UI/UX updates in the spirit of always improving. However, what makes me smile at the end of each day is knowing that there are many of you who take time out of your day simply to help another human being. That's what it's all about. People helping people.
This became glaringly obvious with the launch of a community COVID-19 group where we saw community participation from new members, longtime members, Qlik executives and many of our prominent luminaries. Thank you!
In a short timeframe we have onboarded many internal Qlikkies to our Qlik Community. This was just as important as onboarding our customers and partners! Most recently, we have:
Launched a new Ideation wall working in conjunction with Qlik Product Management.
Rolled out an Events & Webinars page working in conjunction with Qlik Global Programs team.
Built Community into the GA release cycle working closely with Product Marketing teams to publish timely Product Innovation blog articles.
Paired up with Global Support, Academic and Education Teams to deliver timely, fresh and relevant knowledge and articles
Onboarded a brand-new Digital Support Team who is 100% dedicated to the success of our online community. Read this to learn more.
Today we are introducing our Data Integration forums to all QDI customers.
I find it moving to witness, every single day, the coming together of people to collaborate online and help one another solve challenges big and small. Today, collaborating online carries more significance than ever before.
Whether you are a new customer, longtime customer, partner, die-hard Qlik fan, community MVP, developer, BI expert or prospect visiting our Qlik Community, we appreciate you and will never take your visit to our online destination for granted.
Thank you for allowing Qlik Community to be a part of your day and thank you for helping us achieve this amazing milestone. See you online!Melissa
What a view! Last week I had the opportunity to spend time at the Qlik New York City office at our new location in the Empire State Building. I was blown away by the office and the view. The flow of the office felt collaborative and warm. I was so happy to meet so many wonderful people who work out of this office every day. My visit included representing Qlik sponsoring the first NYC Meetup in the new office. There were more than 20 Qlikies that joined this event hosted by Meetup Captain and Qlik Luminary Manoj Kumar Varatharajan. The group spent the evening talking about analytics and sharing insights. I was surrounded by brilliance! The event was a huge success and I am looking forward to being part of the next Qlik Meetup.
The Qlik Community team has been hard at work making improvements throughout the Community in December and January. Take a look at these recent enhancements for forums, blogs, events, emails, and additional features.
1. Product Forums Split into Analytics & Integration
We've split the Qlik Product Forums into two separate forums - one for Data Analytics Products, and one for Data Integration products. The product forums you are used to seeing under Qlik Product Forums are now under Qlik Data Analytics Forums:
Analytics Forums & Integration Forums Buttons

2. Launched Data Integration Forums
We've launched a new set of forums for all of our Data Integration products (formerly Attunity), with product experts assigned to each forum to help members and answer questions. These forums are for current data integration users, or anyone interested in learning more about these offerings.

Qlik Sense Saas & Multi-Cloud
6. Qlik Sense Ideas Updates
We've made quite a few updates to the Qlik Sense Ideas board, as we prepare to launch a revamped Ideas program at Qlik. We've reviewed every idea, and updated the labels and statuses on each one. We also added a status component to show the number of ideas in each status.
The Qlik Sense Ideas board will close February 21 while make final preparations for the new ideas program.
7. Ideas: Search Before Posting
In order to prevent the same ideas from being requested over and over again, we now have a workflow that requires searching the community for similar posts before creating a new idea post.
Ideas Search Before Posting
8. Banner Updates for Services and Product Insight
We completed our page banner updates with new banners for Qlik Services and Qlik Product Insight forums.

Blogs Page Card
10. Resolved Error on Edit Blog Page
We've resolved an error that was appearing on the Edit Blog page that prevented the Preview from working correctly.
11. Consistent Spacing between Viewing Modes
When drafting a blog post, there were spacing issues with line returns rendering differently depending on the view of the draft, preview, and published blog post. We've resolved that issue so the spacing appears in draft and preview mode the same as it will appear in the published post.
Bonus Tip: When drafting any post in the community (blog, discussion, document, or other type) pressing ENTER crates a double-spaced line return. You can create a single-spaced line return by holding the SHIFT key when you press ENTER.
12. Qlik Gallery Healthcare Posters
We've added posters from the 2018 Healthcare Poster Contest to the Qlik Gallery. Check out the gallery to see what other users have created, and create your own to share your best apps with the community!

13. Events & Webinars Filters
We've added two new drop-downs on the Events & Webinars page to filter between Product Family (Data Analytics or Data Integration) and Event Type.

On the Events & Webinars page, the Qlik Community team now has the ability to reorder the event cards to show the most relevant scheduled events near the top, and move on-demand webinars further down.
15. Subscribe to Events & Webinars Page
We've added the options menu to the Events & Webinars Page to allow members to subscribe to the page to get notified when new events are added.

16. Digest Email Updates
We've made a couple of updates to the Community Digest email to remove the duplicate "Community" from the subject line and also added an image and registration link for QlikWorld. Hope to see you there!
Email Digest QlikWorld
17. Reminder Emails to Mark Solutions
Members who post a question and receive replies on it will now receive an email reminding them to review the responses to mark one or more replies as Solutions. This helps keep the community clean and organized by showing which posts are resolved with Solutions, and which posts are still open.
18. Added Private Messages to Search
Community Search has been expanded so that you can now choose the Private Messages tab to search for keywords in your private messages!
Search Private Messages
19. Enabled Attachments on Mobile Devices
We've enabled the ability to attach files to new posts and replies from a mobile device. To attach files, click the paperclip icon below the body field, just like you would on a desktop or laptop computer.
Mobile Devices Attachments
20. Content Mentions
Most members are already familiar with the @Mention feature to mention specific users in a post. But now, you can use the@Mention feature to quickly link to posts as well. To do so, just type "@"followed by keywords, and the menu will display content results to choose from. Click a result to add the link to the post.
21. System Updates to Improve SEO
We've made several system updates to improve SEO,with more to come. We know that many users prefer to use Google to find content in the community, and these updates should make the Google results even more relevant to your search.
22. Launched User Feedback Survey
Last, but certainly not least, we've launch a user feedback survey to find out how well the community is serving our members, and to see how we can best improve. If you receive the survey pop-up, we'd love to hear your thoughts. It's short and sweet and takes less than a minute to complete.
User Feedback Survey
We hope these updates help improve your community experience. Let us know in the comments below which updates you're most excited to see.
As always, thank you for being a part of the Qlik Community. We're glad you're here!
All the best,Jeremy and the Qlik Community Team
There’s no better reward than knowing that you’re truly having a positive impact on your customers. AtQlik, it’s a daily occurrence to hear from our passionate users through Qlik Nation, our customer portal.
From humble beginnings,Qlik Nationhas grown into a vibrant and active community where customers connect, learn, andengage with us. And, as Qlik grows, Qlik Nation is a key asset in hearing from the front lines on successes, needs and how we’re making a difference for customers.
We asked our Qlik Nation members how Qlik has made a difference for them, big or small, because we wanted to hear straight from the source. Here are a few of the answers we got…
“Qlik has completely changed the career direction I've taken in life. I came back from being overseas for some years working as a scuba dive instructor and with a bit of luck landed myself a job with a good mentor (Jason Michaliedes, a Qlik Luminary for some years now) learning QlikView. I haven't looked back but wish I was a bit better at it. I'm constantly learning something new and wish I had more time to port my QlikView dashboards over to Qlik Sense. One day soon that time will come. Scuba diving to Qlik who'd have thought?” Paul Nockolds,Data Analyst at Haymarket Media Group
“Qlik Sense has completely turned our business BI offering around by making the data available to not just a select few IT professionals or "Super Users," but to the people that matter on the ground doing the work and making the decisions on a daily basis. Qlik has enabled us to ditch manual spreadsheets and push insightful data to the very edges of our organisation, giving us a more competitive edge by empowering our staff to think beyond a simple sales figure and realise a much larger data-driven story.”
“Since I started work with Qlik, even the simplest processes are simplified thanks to the integration and simplicity of analysis. Even if my area has moved from data visualization to modeling and integration, Qlik remains one of the most reliable tools for controlling, processing and studying the data.” Filippo Orlando,Data Developer at Unieuro Spa
“There was a big improvement in how we were getting statistics about IT systems every day and automatically. We did it with Qlik and its incremental load possibility. People did not care about manually created Excel spreadsheets at all. It was huge progress for them, as they are part of public service and every new idea takes a long time. I did it three years ago, and now they are still using it — it works like a charm!”
“Before the implementation of Qlik, I was the only person in a 900+ size company to provide insights and reporting, which was quite a daunting period in my professional career. Moreover, the company works on multiple platforms, which made it quite complex to navigate and keep track. Since the implementation of Qlik, clients, as I like to call them, have direct access to standard information, which no longer requires my input.” Peter Eerdekens,Commercial Business Analyst at Asilia Lodges and Camps (Pty) Ltd
“Qlik is the kind of all-inclusive, do-everything sort of dashboarding tool that keeps me coming to work every day! Knowing that I will be creating, adjusting, fixing and monitoring multiple data sources (and types) — along with the scripting that builds those into the app, the front-end dashboard, the back-end security/access, and the many types of variables, charts and new things — keeps me coming to work every day. Loving your job is a big part of long-term happiness in my mind, and Qlik is one of the things that I love about my job [....].” Mitch Speer,Supervisor of Business Intelligence at Teachers Credit Union
“Qlik Sense has made a big difference for me, as I am not a classically trained developer. I knew a little SQL and some very basic VB 5 from self study a couple of decades ago. In my current role as Project Server Analyst, I am required to build reporting in Project server 2013. There only real options are OOB, SSRS and Excel Services. Qlik Sense enabled me to build attractive and meaningful reports without extensive coding at first. I am now rapidly building up my skillset learning by means of the Qlik Community and Qlik Continuous Classroom, which keeps me productive while I learn more advanced reporting and scripting languages.” David Tate,Project Server Analyst at PSCU Incorporated
If you’re a Qlik end-user customer and want an invitation to Qlik Nation to see what it’s all about, please email Carolyn.Davis@qlik.com
Hello Qlik Community,
We have a few exciting updates the Qlik Community made in October & November to tell you about.
1. Home Page Promo Carousel
For those of you who use the Qlik Community home page to find out about upcoming events and other timely interests, you'll be happy to see that we've converted the promo spot into a carousel to feature a rotating selection of cards, instead of just one at a time.
The cards rotate automatically, and you can use the arrows to cycle through manually. Use the buttons to register for an event or see more events on the Events & Webinars page.
2. Qlik Gallery
In October, we unveiled the newQlik Gallery, a place to share your best Qlik apps with the community. At opening, we included all of the submissions to this year's Qonnections poster contest and Spotlighted the contest winners.
Since then, we've had some really great additions from the community. Check them out, and add your best app to the Qlik Gallery, too!
3. Updates to Filters and Settings
On Recent Discussions feeds, we've updated the text on the Sort By filters to make it more clear what the options are.
Selecting "Most Recent Thread" displays threads in the order of the thread creation date, with the most recent on top. Selecting "Most Recent Reply" displays threads in the order of the most recent reply, with the most recent on top.
Selecting either of these options updates the listing in the "Recent" tab.
You can change your settings to display the Most Recent Thread or Most Recent Reply in My Settings > Preferences > General.
The option you choose here will be your default, but you can use the Sort By Filters on-the-fly to see the other view as needed.
4. NPrinting Labels - NPrinting Version and Product Selection
In order to streamline the solution process in the NPrinting forum, we've developed two sets of Labels for members to choose from when posting new questions and documents to the NPrinting forum.
First, choose the label for the NPrinting version you are using. Then, choose the label for the Qlik Data Analytics product you are using it with, either Qlik Sense or QlikView.
With these Label selections being made up front, it will be much easier for community members (including Qlik support and product managers) to help resolve issues without having to ask for that information.
Additionally, you can subscribe to a Label for an NPrinting version number to get notifications for those posts.
5. New Page Banners for Qlik Resources, About Qlik Community, and Community Sitemap
You're used to seeing the blue page banner throughout the community, but now we're adding new, unique page banners to different locations to help distinguish where you are in the community. In our last update, we showed off the new page banners forEvents,Groups, andBlogspages.
Now, we have new page banners for Qlik Resources, About Qlik Community, and Community Sitemap pages.
6. Community Footer Updates to Include Attunity Links
We've updated the Products list in the site footer to include Qlik Data Integration products. Use these links to visit the product pages on Qlik.com to learn more about our new Attunity products.
Keep an eye out for more updates to include Qlik Data Integration forums in the community soon!
Jeremy and the Qlik Community Team
Hello Qlik Community,
Here's a quick update to let you know some of the exciting enhancements we made in August and September, as well as a bonus at the end.
1. Labels and Tags Double Filter
We've added a powerful new way to narrow down the posts in a forum or board by label and tag at the same time!
All of our forums and board pages have a labels component in the right rail which can be used as a filter to narrow down the posts list to just the posts with that label. When you click on a label, you'll be taken to a list of all the posts in that location with that label.
Now, we've added a tags component to the Label Page, so that it displays all of the tags that are contained on the posts with the selected label.
Additionally, you can click on a tag from the Label Page, and it will filter again to show just the posts in that location with the selected label and the selected tag, creating a double filter to fine tune the results.
In the example below, I've filtered from New to Qlik Sense > Label: Expression > Tag: Dimensions, which narrowed the results down to one post, which has a solution:
2. Meetups Map Updates
We've update the map on the Meetups page to highlight all of the Qlik Meetup groups around the world.
Clicking on a red dot will display a hovercard with the group name and location, which can be clicked to go directly to that group's page on the Meetup network. This makes it easier than ever to find a Qlik Meetup near you to join in!
Upcoming Meetups listed in the right rail are still denoted on the map with green pins.
3. New Page Banners for Events, Groups, and Blogs
You're used to seeing the blue page banner throughout the community, but now we're adding new, unique page banners to different locations to help distinguish where you are. In place of the global banner on Events, Groups, and Blogs pages, you'll find new, unique banners.
Global Page Banner:
New Events Banner:
New Groups Banner:
New Blogs Banner:
4. Added Events Card to Home Page
We've added an Events page card to the home page (after clicking the Show More button) to be consistent with the locations listed in the left-hand navigation bar.
5. Fixed Leader Groups Page Listing
We've fixed a bug that was causing the wrong groups to be displayed on the Leader Groups page.
6. Attunity Forum - Coming Soon!
We've added a forum placeholder to let you know that we're in the process of building out a new forum for Attunity products.
While we work on building that out, you can access the legacy Attunity forums athttp://forums.attunity.com.
7. Bonus: Qlik Gallery
This week we launched a new page called Qlik Gallery, where you can share your best Qlik apps with the rest of the community. We'll have more info about in our October 2019 Enhancements blog post, but you can check it out now and upload your own!
Happy Autumn everyone!
